Belltown Dance Studio iS by far the best place in Seattle to learn Salsa, Bachata or Zouk. The owner Jim is incredibly motivated and teaches with precision and attention to detail. He also has original and creative moves and will help you to understand to get your dance right! Music is also fantastic! Highly highly recommended!!!

Wouldn't recommend the place at all. It's a dance studio run by a very rude guy. He has no concern for people what so ever. Completely business minded with zero customer service. Their system of tracking classes with punch cards is way too old and all your money is gone if you miss it. It has got some other decent instructors. It's located in a creepy place.

Jim choreographed our first dance. He did a great job! He was easy to work with, very helpful and patient and carefully explained every step. My husband went from no dance experience other than flailing his arms to being able to do a number of Waltz steps after only two lessons. After lessons we decided to start taking dancing classes on a regular base! As for the result , we did great in the wedding! All our guests were in shock when they saw us dance and it was so much fun! Definitely recommend Jim as a great dance teacher and choreographer!

What a great studio! There's so much variety on the dances one can practice here. The regular socials here are friendly and many people know each other from the scene. When you make friends here, you make friends with the best Seattle has to offer. I love to know that no matter what day it is, BDS is open for some dancing!

My dance partner and I took a private lesson from Jim during the Seattle Salsa Congress. For me, it is important that the instructor is able to deliver the material in a fun yet structured and disciplined manner. Jim did just that and he left me wanting to practice more and hit the dance floor stat. Jim keeps the passion of dance alive and you will take away many upon many tips and tricks to make you a kick ass dancer.
