The Goh Ballet Academy is wonderful. I started my ballet training two months before my 16th birthday, with no previous dance training to speak of. After a year and a half of detailed instruction and hard work I'm currently in the first year of their senior program. I think that should speak for the superlative level of training the Goh Ballet Academy provides to it's students.

I've been training at The Goh Ballet for almost 15 years now and I can honestly say that the training here is exceptional. I've been through all the levels of the junior school, the senior school, and now I am dancing with the Youth Company. I am privileged to get to assistant teach for one of my teachers and it's amazing to get to see all the hard work she puts in all the young dancers. In each junior school class, there is a main teacher and at least 1 assistant teacher to ensure each student gets the individual attention they need. In the senior classes, it is an even more professional setting where each student thrives to be better and better with each class they take, and the teachers are all extremly supportive of that. I recently took my Royal Academy of Dance Advanced 2 exam and passed with distinction and that would not have been possible without the love and care I receive on a daily basis from the artistic faculty at the Goh. All the teachers make it such a great learning environment at the Goh and it keeps all of us students motivated to improve. I am so honoured to be able to say I train at such a wonderful place like Goh.

My daughter danced for several years at the Goh. On the positive side they have a very prestigious name and have been around for a long time. They put on a large well received Nutcracker show every Christmas. On the negative side the classes were very large. The amount of hands on correction by the teachers was very low. When you've got 25 people in a class you don't have time to for individual attention. After a disappointing year we switched ballet schools and my daughter required significant remedial training to catch up with the dancers at the new school. Her technique was sloppy and the standards were much higher at the new school. With 6 dancers in the class at her new school she received significant and regular attention that she never got at the Goh and blossomed as a dancer. The Goh gave my daughter a start in dance which I appreciate but I can't currently recommend them. If you're a recreational dancer save your money and go elsewhere. If you're a serious dancer there are many better options in the Vancouver area.

It's a great place to do ballet as well as jazz and privates

Expensive school and yet they don't really value your child's ability. Ms Goh and Ms Smith have favoritisms - pretty sad truth! Save your money and precious time and go to other ballet school!
