It was a pleasure being able to work with Clara on our wedding dance. She was able to come up with a choreography that was beautiful and at the same time still at our comfort level. She is always giving us great tips on how we can make our performance better, and the way she instructed us really made it easy. We enjoyed every session we had with her; she does everything with a SMILE and has a very positive personality that is just great to be around with. Not intimidating or anything at all! We were also lucky to have been able to work with Joel in a series of beginners classes before we started our sessions with Clara for our wedding dance, and I think it really helped us a lot in terms of getting the rhythm and steps when it came to our choreographed dance with Clara. Would definitely recommend the beginners class. Joel is just as pleasant to work with as Clara – always happy and joking around while making the dance steps as easy to follow even for someone who has never danced before. 🎉😄

My wife and I went to Joel to prepare our first dance for our wedding, and it was a wonderful experience. First we saw him for several private lessons where we learned the basics and laid the groundwork for the choreographed dance, and then closer to the wedding date we began the 7 lesson performance package as described on the JC Dance Co website. During that time Joel choreographed our dance with our input and taught us everything we needed to pull it off. Joel is patient and good-humored, and was great at guiding us through the various steps and patterns. He was able to evaluate our skills and progress, and design choreography that was appropriate for us. Once we had the full dance choreographed and memorized, the final lessons focused on helpful tips and styling to elevate the entire routine to the next level. He also offered some great advice for the day of the event, preparing us for things that might happen unexpectedly and how to handle them. This came in handy when our DJ mistakenly began the song before we were ready. Had it not been for Joel's advice, we might have panicked. But because he prepared us for that possibility, we knew what to do. Our guests were wowed, and we had a blast! We highly recommend JC Dance Co, both for dancing lessons in general and First Dance preparation especially!

My new husband and I recently took private dance lessons to surprise our wedding guests for our first dance. As same sex novice dancers, we didn't know where to begin or exactly what we wanted. Thank goodness Clara came into our lives. Not once did we feel uncomfortable or out of place. Her patience, friendliness, humour and most of all talent is beyond measure. We left every lesson smiling and couldn't wait to learn more. After seven lessons the dancing spoke for itself. We were able to confidently surprise our guests with the most incredible dance routine specifically designed for us. We are so glad we chose Clara to lead us and create a moment in our lives that we nor any of our guests will ever forget!

I began attending Joel's Wednesday beginner class in May 2015 to tryout a new activity and exercise. In my very first class, we learned the slow waltz and I remembered Joel being very energetic, patient and funny teaching us the timing of the dance. Surprisingly I did well (because I didn't step on any toe that night) and felt really happy about it so i bought a group class package to learn more. They make the dances easy to follow and still have fun doing it. I guess he saw my eagerness to learn and so he asked me if I was interested to do competitive ballroom dancing. I was hesitant at first but looking back after 3 years, I know agreeing was probably one of the best decisions I made in my life. My current partner and I are both training with Joel and Clara for international style ballroom dance. They are both highly experienced coaches and very pleasant to work with. They are the best in town!

Great time with JC Dance. Joined their beginner dance class and had a blast learning all the dances. They do mini routines which feels like you are learning something and can dance! The classes are fun and upbeat and move at a good pace. Joel's enthusiasm is contagious and makes you feel welcome and comfortable. No partner needed as partners rotate. Highly recommend them (had joined more classes)!
