Katya of "Dance First Think Later" was so talented, understanding, kind and most importantly, non-judgemental!!! My husband and I realized last minute that we should probably take some dance lessons for our first dance so that we wouldn't look like two high school kids awkwardly slow dancing at a prom. We are really relieved that we had help from Katya! Our dance was fun and very "us." Katya made sure to start from basics and build on them so everything made sense and the difficulty slowly built in the routine. The routine was realistic for our dance level but also challenged us and had some really great moments for photos. One of the best things about Katya's lessons are that she records the routine at the end of each lesson on your phone so that you can watch it again and practice with a clear visual at home. Thank you, Katya!! Anyone who needs help with a first wedding dance should go to Katya! She is awesome!!!

Katya is an amazing dance instructor! I have a bit of dance background, but my husband didn't have any dance background. We gave her our first dance song, with a few requests and she was able to go above and beyond. Our guests were amazed, and loved our first dance. She was also accommodating, and had our last practice at our venue so we had a better idea and confidence. Thank you Katya!

Katya is an absolutely amazing teacher and person. We took 10 Swing dance lessons with her for our wedding, and apart from having so much fun throughout the lessons, we also put on the show of our dreams for the wedding. All of our guests were so entertained and impressed and complemented us on the performance throughout the entire evening. Would highly recommend taking any amount/style of dance lessons at this studio.

Leading up to our wedding, neither of us had formally danced together so we did a lot of research and ended up booking with Katya. She was an amazing teacher and over a few 1-hour private lessons, we quickly learned a beautiful routine to a 'First Song' of our choice. She gives excellent feedback and suggestions about how to improve - plus it was a lot of fun!

I would highly recommend these lessons to anyone, especially couples getting married. Katya created a very easy but impressive looking routine for our First Dance in two lessons! We got so many compliments from our guests and it was one of my favorite parts of the wedding planning process. I shopped around and she also has some of the most reasonable prices in the lower mainland. Go for it!
