I have always wanted to learn to dance and I could have not picked a better place to go. The staff always greet you with a smile and the students were quick to welcome me to the Arthur Murray Yorkville family. Would highly recommend.

We took dance lessons from Valerie Casault for fun, to learn some basic steps for different dances and to choreograph our wedding dance. The time flies when we have our lessons - Val is sweet and funny and really good at what she does. The song we chose for our first dance was an acoustic version of a song so it didn't follow the usual tempo. Val made it work anyway and even made it so turns were perfectly timed to match with the build in intensity in the music and everything flowed beautifully. Val went out of her way to make us as comfortable as we could for the actual first dance - she recruited people to be our audience and got us used to dancing in front of small crowds. We got a lot of compliments on our wedding day and we felt really comfortable doing our dance. We will definitely be continuing our dance lessons with Val and would recommend her to anyone, whether they are looking for a choreographed first dance or if you would just like a fun hobby.

When I signed up for the introductory lesson with a casual interest in ballroom, I had no idea what to expect, but dancing at Arthur Murray Yorkville has transformed my life, and now without a doubt it is my passion! I never thought ballroom could make the changes it has, but to my sincerest, unexpected delight, dancing here has been the best thing ever to happen to me. Just to touch upon a few things that tend to be the easiest to define, there is, first, happiness. I have never been happier since starting dance, and while I was not unhappy before, I am always aware of being joyful now. Secondly, stress has disappeared. I know it was thanks to dance that it ceased to worry me entirely, both during my student years and since then. Finally, coming to Arthur Murray Yorkville has brought me a pervasive, personal confidence I never knew before. The wonderful people here, both teachers and students, have become my second family and I constantly look forward to the time of day when I enter this wonderful world.

Over the past 3 1/2 years dance, and by extension Arthur Murray, has become a big part of my life. The people, both teachers and students a like, are all fantastic people who have the unique ability to brighten even the darkest of days. And if you’re looking to get away, to put aside the days worries, and be free for a time, then I would say dance. There’s nothing quite like it, whether you want to experience the drama of tango, the intimacy of a rumba or the beauty of waltz, there is something there for everyone. The thing that sets Arthur Murray a part from the rest is definitely the community, because I can guarantee you that you’ll make life long friends here. That’s just one of the many reasons why I will continue to go here for years to come. And if you’re worried or nervous just remember, everyone started out as a beginner.

I absolutely love these classes since there are beginner classes offered at this studio. The studios were clean, well-maintained, light. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful for walking me to the classroom and introducing me to the instructor as a new student. Other students are friendly and non-judgmental, There are tons of classes to take and try. I'm learning dance moves while getting a great workout and meeting a group of wonderful people.
