Owner of this studio June is extremely unprofessional and will talk to you disrespectfully. She has a snarky attitude and I regret giving her all of the money we did for our daughters classes. I've heard multiple complaints from other parents who've noticed these things too. Everything she does is for her own benefit and to look good in front of everyone for the recital. It's not for the benefit of the families because if it was, she would treat them with respect. She continuously mentions that she's been doing this for 33 years... well I'm sorry lady, this doesn't mean you're Mrs know it all and that you're entitled to talk to people the way you did to us and around us. Extremely unprofessional and uncalled for. Everything at the studio is a money grab. I know it's a business, but there are limits! She did not allow parents to take photos or videos of their own children. She wants you to buy the DVD of course. She had the recital at 7pm on a Saturday before Mother's Day, and it ended past 10:30pm. Our little girl who's only 4 danced 5 minutes out of those 3.5 hours, at the rehearsal as well, and sat backstage for the rest of the time. They had the older girls come out what, over 20 times? Some parents were even sleeping in their seats. It was absolutely ridiculous. Our daughter was so tired when I picked her up at the end that she was crying and couldn't even keep it together. And did I mention the $40 price her ticket?? Our daughter barely learned anything in the year she's been there. Our experience was deceiving and we would not recommend this studio to anyone.

I write this review with honesty and integrity. The June Lawrence School of Dance has been a part of my life, my whole life. I learned to dance here for 20+ years. From childhood to adolescence to adulthood. June has taught me dance, confidence, prudence, respect for others and myself and how to have a good time. She puts her whole heart into teaching dance and into running her business. As an adult, I now work for her and often express to her that I enjoy it so much that I would do it for free. Working at the studio gives me the opportunity to see new dancers, meet new families, encourage their growth and be involved in the community. My experience with JLSD has touched every part of my life and will forever have a deep impact.

Being apart of the June Lawrence School of Dance for the past 15 years has been like having a second family. Two girls started at the age of 6 and 3 with the youngest yet not on her toes. All three girls have been given the opportunity to develop self confidence and their love of the art through discipline and technique. Over the years they have grown with their experience and applied their passion and love of dance to outside activities, whether furthering their dance training in high school, university, music theatre productions or just out having fun. Although two have gone on to University, they are always eager to rush back to the studio when they are home to continue their training, strengthening and being involved with events and recital. From Creative A classes, Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Acro, Competition Team, Ladies Jazz/Tap, Recitals, Santa Claus parades and even a Dad’s dance mixed in it has been a fantastic 15 years. Special thanks to June and the JLSD teaching staff for your hard work, dedication and contribution to the growth of these beautiful young ladies. Thank you for being a being a big part of our lives. Congratulations on celebrating 30 amazing years and here’s to many, many more...Keep on Dancing!
