My daughter started dance class back in September of 2015. We were told that we weren't allowed to see any of her dance until the recital in June. So off we went almost every Saturday for 9 months. Staff there are great! Very friendly! My daughter took pre teen beginner hip hop. Her teacher, Daniel, was great! I saw other classes of older kids dance and it was amazing! Was totally looking forward to the recital! I took part in a couple fundraisers during the nine months and told them to put what I raised towards my daughters tuition, as well as her costume. I was also excited that on their website it stated and still states that recitals are held at the rose theatre in Brampton! Bonus right? So the big week comes! Monday, June 13: picture day! And the day she got her $120.00 costume (which I wasn't allowed to see until the day of either). It consisted of a pair of baggy jeans with a piece of pink fabric sewed into the pocket and a plain tshirt. That's it!...ok...surely the recital will be great! And then the big day comes! Which was today! And the recital is held at the Lester b Pearson memorial theatre which is aged and dirty...ok, I paid $60 for tickets for her step dad and I. Front row seats and our feet were literally on the dance floor. No stage. I watched a few classes go before hers and in between songs I watched parents of the dancers run back stage from their seats. I was told when I got there that I would have to drop her off when her dance song name was called and run to my seat and when she was done, run back and get her. So the big moment comes and I'm anxiously awaiting and then it starts! Yay! So proud of my little girl!! So brave! Dancing in front of all those people!! BUT! Her dance was literally half a song. They pretty much stood in one spot the whole time and moved their arms and body's. Once she was done, I did what I saw the other moms doing. I went back stage to get my daughter to bring her out to watch the rest of the show only to be very rudely told that I shouldn't be back stage and that I couldn't take my daughter back to my seat because SHE DIDNT HAVE A TICKET! She needed a ticket??? She was in the show for Christ sakes! So then the lady told me I couldn't take her and leave until intermission which was ATLEAST an hour away! And that she would be with the rest of her class in the back until then. Well I went back to my seat and sat there uncomfortable knowing my daughter wasn't with me and for good reason! When I finally just up and left, she was in the freakin lobby of the building sitting on the stairs by herself!!!!!!!! Utterly disgusted! I had a parent tell me before I went inside in the beginning that she was very disappointed in the school and that the recital was very unorganized. She was telling the truth! Most of the classes had dance teachers on the floor yelling out instructions which was very distracting. My daughters step sister has been dancing for years and she was there cringing and asking why they were doing that! Isn't that the whole point of classes? So the kids can shine at the recital? Anyway, I've decided that next year my daughter will be attending her step sisters dance school where she will be taught to dance and able to shine at her recital and watch the rest of the classes instead of hanging out in the lobby of the public building of an old dirty run down theatre. Sorry dtsod! I expected much more! Especially considering I never saw one bad review about the school but now that I think about it, I never saw ANY reviews. Only the testimonials on your website.
