After relocating to the GTA our daughter was looking for more theatre experience outside of her arts high school. Kathy at Spotlight was the first one to reach out to us after we contacted several groups. Her Enthusiasm and clear joy over seeing kids from “all ages” get the acting bug and have a safe warm environment where they can grow was obvious to us immediately. Since we didn’t know anybody here we were being very cautious. Kathy allowed us to come and observe the classes in action, she gave our daughter time to see if she would be comfortable in that setting. She worked with us on the financial end so that it was doable for us. She was beyond gracious. After two years our daughter has grown in leaps and bounds. Her first ever public solo was on an Arts Spotlight stage. We are convinced that our shy girl may never have started to perform if she didn’t have this environment to discover her talents in. Since then she has gone on to perform in musicals and compete in Canada and the US. No matter how busy or hectic things are around Kathy she always has time to talk to us. And the amazing thing is that when we are talking to her it’s as though we are the only people in the room. Not only that but we are sure a daughter will have friendships for years to come from this group. Thank you so much Arts Spotlight for this gift in our lives!

I came from a world of competitive dance. I was used to that, I enjoyed it, I had friends, and I felt it was a pretty good community. However, it’s not until I joined spotlight that I realized how wrong I truly was. Spotlight is the warmest, and most inclusive environment that I’ve ever had the pleasure of being a part of. Even the main director of the company is the kindest and most down to earth persothat I know. I have been taken private lessons with her for 9 years now and I would never think of going to anyone else because I know that no one will be as good and as caring as her. I am friends with nearly everyone at spotlight and there is certainly way less drama here than what I am used to with competitive dance. It is just such a fun and loving space and I am proud and honoured to be a part of it. I highly recommend this program.

I have been a student here for years and this theatre school has done so much for me. I have learned so much about acting, performance, and working as a team. The instructors are so knowledgeable, patient, and caring. Taking classes here have given myself, and so many other kids, incredible confidence and caring to take out into the world. The other students and instructors have become like my family and I would highly recommend anyone take a class here, from kids to teens to parents, it will change your life!

After many years of competitive dance, my daughter jointed Spotlight's competitive theatre program, and after only 1 year, she says she felt more at home at Spotlight than she ever did at dance. Spotlight is a wonderful group filled with talented and kind people. Kathy Solluch is amazing, completely dedicated to her craft and one of the most caring and devoted people I know. She does her best to ensure that Spotlight is a warm, welcoming family environment accessible to all, regardless of age or ability. Highly recommended!

My daughter has been an active member of Spotlight for 3 years and absolutely loves it. As one of the youngest joining a few years ago, I was concerned that she would have a tough time fitting in... my worries were unnecessary. Everyone was so welcoming - she has absolutely flourished and gained so much confidence because of this experience. I can’t imagine her not being a part of this Spotlight family and I look forward to watching her grow with Spotlight for years to come. It has not only given her confidence on stage but in life as well. For anyone who has a child interested in experiencing theatre, I highly recommend Spotlight.
