Bold Dance Company is the ABSOLUTE WORST dance school you could take your child to. My younger sister danced here for many years and was constantly verbally put down and would often leave in tears. Not uncommon for other children to run out of classes crying as well. Many friends have stated similar stories. The teachers are NOT friendly and after numerous times of speaking with the owners there were no changes made. Dance was my sister's favourite thing to do and Bold took that away from her.

Terrible experience. Military style dance program. My child was there for 2 months. She came from a superior competitive program, but we moved homes so we came to Bold. My child was 5, and participated with the younger children. Not uncommon for multiple children to run out in tears during classes. Children will do pushups, and run laps for improper form. Children will be chastised if the quality of their hair buns is poor. My child lost her love of dance, and was afraid to go to school! Prior to Bold, she had competed in solo’s and groups (and won) and would dance for 5+ hours a week. She was no stranger to dance. Do your research, as there is lots of choice in Toronto all within close proximity. The experience was a total disaster, and it was better for us to walk away from a $500 deposit, than watch my child in tears. Jack Johnson, your review is an obvious fake. Done from three separate accounts! Caveat Emptor

For the past 7 years, i have been on BOLD’s full time competitive team. Now graduating this year I have looked back on what an incredible experience i have had. Ever since I started at BOLD, I have been treated as a part of their family. I have learned more than just dance, I have learned life lessons that I will use continuing my career into university and beyond. With me, I take all of the many memories I have made with my life long friends at BOLD and the amount of exceptional dance training. The improvement I have seen in myself is all due to the teachers who instill a belief in all their students unlike anyone else. They give their utmost attention to each student in order to push them to be the dancer and person they know they can be. I will forever carry with me the endless amount of teachings that i have gotten throughout my dance journey at BOLD. I recommend any parent that wants their child to get the same training and experiences I did to enroll their child immediately. My family and I have never regretted our decision to switch studios seven years ago and i will never regret the last seven years I have had with my BOLD family.

What a shame to read such hatred words. On my part I have 2 children that have been dancing at BOLD for the last 5 years, and they couldn’t be happier. My kids have grown as dancers and are happy kids. Dancing is hard work and it takes love and dedication to the art form of dance. They have been inspired, achieved great results and have been recognized for their accomplishments. This cannot be achieved without supportive and talented teachers. What people don’t realize is that there are “children” that dance and are happy dancing at BOLD and they seem to forget that these hatred actions also affects them. This is supposed to be about the kids. Be happy where you are and let others be happy where they are!! Whatever the reason that caused you to leave was ultimately a personal decision. It’s a shame things didn’t work out but if you are that disgruntled it needs to be dealt personally and not on social media. I am not here to attack anyone personally or their comments; I am simply standing up for people that I believe in, people who have supported and helped my children and other children grow as dancers. They are caring and talented individuals who have a passion for what they do and it shows on the numbers they create for the kids. We are so wrapped on this social media to attack people that we forget to be people. If you have issues with someone deal with it personally. Don’t go and hide behind a screen and a user name in the hopes that someone jumps on your bad wagon of hatred and negativity. Best of luck and enjoy your dance season wherever you choose to dance and make it a happy and healthy environment for the kids’ sake!

Some passionate owners&teachers at BOLD all wanting the best each dancer can be; nothing is given to any child regardless of how gifted, talented or pretty/cute U think they are unless it is earned! Are BOLD practices TOUGH? YES! ABSOLUTELY 110%!!! With that said U can be certain that the hard earned dollars that U work for & spend on ur child to dance here is money well spent and all done in a PROFESSIONAL, MOTIVATING, UPLIFTING, FUN & REWARDING way. U will notice this quickly when ur child progresses from one practice to the next but nothing compares to when U see them compete on stage for the very first time & it keeps repeating itself practice after practice, competition after competition! So what do U do before signing with BOLD? Prepare ur child by educating them what they should & can expect at each of the practices. Educate them that if they want to be the best dancer "they can be" that the practices will be tough but also educate them to NOT be afraid because it will be SO REWARDING & FUN especially when they learn to JUMP & FLY 3-5ft in the air landing 4-12ft from one spot to another ON A DIME as well as all the other dance moves, spins/turns & tricks they'll be able to perform & with such TECHNIQUE, SKILL, CONFIDENCE, FLAIR & ATTITUDE let alone the smile that U will see on their faces when they're competing on stage with the same and is absolutely priceless, breathtaking and spectacular to see! So U can be certain that practices at BOLD aren't going to be a tea party nor a social gathering nor a baby sitting place; unfortunately I think some parents don't realize or understand. Think of it being like ur job (for those of U that work); ur boss doesn't care about anything other than U doing ur job & what is asked of U! Well its the same thing at BOLD; when a child comes to practice its expected that they will be 110% focused; that is another thing ur child can take away from this school when they are done dance & that's having these much needed life-long skills: CONFIDENCE/VISION/DRIVE/ACCOUNTABILITY/DISCIPLINE/FOCUS/DETERMINATION/MOTIVATION/AMBITION/TEAMWORK/LEADERSHIP/DEPENDABILITY/CREATIVITY/TOUGHNESS/UNDERSTANDING/COLLABORATION/TIME-MANAGEMENT, etc.. Dancers shouldn't be surprised if a teacher talks loudly (or yell even) to get their attention or challenging a dancer to try a new move thus really no reason to cry nor take it personal. As for children running out of dance practice crying (crying at a dance practice? really???); all I can say is the owners & teachers care very deeply for all their dancers; as for the parents that condone their children crying from a dance practice; all I have for you is one word & that's "BACKBONE", time that U educate your child about growing one & I say this with much love/respect! The owners/teachers are very well aware that a dancer may have an "off day" during a practice for whatever the reason; what they don't want is another dancer being demotivated by that dancer then the next thing you know the whole class starts to feel the same thus they communicate with a high level of ENERGY, EXCITEMENT & ENTHUSIASM to ensure all kids are on the same page! It's kind of like a boat full of rowers, if one or two on one side of the boat aren't pulling their weight, the boat will just go around in circles, right?! Also because U will have very high expectations & rightfully so for your child/groups to do more than just "ok" at competitions; all parents "expect" their child/groups to WIN! Well this can only be achieved at BOLD practices where it isn't "practice makes perfect" but rather "A PERFECT PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT". Being a dancer at BOLD means the better you are the more SWEAT they are going to DEMAND from you at EACH AND EVERY practice, again rightfully so! Also the outside choreographers & teachers have the highest level of expectations & accountability from the BOLD owners & again rightfully so! BOLD is certainly a no fluff/no sugar coated dance school & definitely not for the faint of heart dancer. !!!BREATHE IT, OWN IT, LIVE IT, DANCE!!! PEACE OUT & DANCE ON!
