I can’t recommend this salsa school enough! The environment is incredibly welcoming, supportive, and genuinely fun. Aleks is an outstanding teacher. He breaks everything down in a way that makes it easy to learn, keeps the classes engaging, and creates a space where everyone feels comfortable, even if you’ve never danced before. I had zero dance experience when I started, and within just a couple of months I was already able to attend socials, dance the basics, and actually enjoy myself on the dance floor. Now I feel confident, relaxed, and truly excited to go to class each week. What really sets this school apart is the atmosphere. It’s not competitive or intimidating at all, everyone is friendly, encouraging, and there’s a real sense of community. You don’t just learn to dance here, you meet great people and have a genuinely good time. If you’re in Toronto and thinking about trying salsa, whether you’re a complete beginner or just looking for a positive place to dance, this is absolutely the school to choose.

The only negative about TDS is that you get such a lovely experience, you can't fit all the positives in a single review. In short, signing up for classes at TDS was an amazing decision. I went from hesitantly registering the night before (after searching for excuses like I was on a scavenger hunt), to being a 'regular' and going multiple times a week. It felt weird at the start, but Aleks did a great job of using his infectious personality to distract me from feeling self-conscious or awkward. Him and his helpers make you feel welcomed and relaxed (esp. with their high-fives & hugs before class starts). It makes you feel like you truly #belong (almost like it's their slogan). I never imagined I'd be spending my weekends dancing salsa/bachata (and actually enjoying it), or spending my evenings going out for bubble tea with the people I met at TDS. I first rolled my eyes when I saw the website say that class will be the 'best hour of your week', but 3 months & 5 levels of dance later, it's hard for me to argue with that statement... If you're scared to sign up, make the hard decision and do it anyway - you'll thank yourself later. Aleks is more than just a dance instructor, and TDS is more than just a dance school ;)

I never thought I would join a dance school, especially since dancing felt so far outside my comfort zone. Feeling confident and comfortable dancing was something I always admired but never imagined I would actually pursue. Joining TDS has truly been one of the best decisions I have made. I now look forward to Sundays and Salsa every week. It is such a fun and welcoming environment where you immediately feel comfortable, like you truly belong. Aleks, the instructor and his volunteers are incredibly kind and encouraging. Aleks is energetic, patient, and genuinely passionate about teaching. He takes the time to support every student and make everyone feel seen and cared for, and that makes such a difference. You do not need any experience to join. I started with zero experience and have loved every class. It is not just fun, it is empowering. I am so glad I took the leap. If you are thinking about joining, just do it. You will not regret it. Thank you to Aleks and the entire TDS team for truly living out what your dance school is all about, belonging. 💃✨

TDS has been such an amazing facility for learning salsa in a welcoming, fun environment. Aleks is a wonderful host and truly cares about his student's progress and well-being. In the span of 6 months, I have become a confident salsa dancer, with noticeable transfer of skills to my contemporary dancing as well The prices are competitive, and I really enjoyed the weekly ongoing classes as opposed to drop-in classes available elsewhere in the city thank you so much!!!

Ever since I joined Toronto Dance Salsa, it’s become one of the brightest parts of my day. Aleks and all the helpers at the school create a sense of belonging from the moment you arrive. They provide a warm sense of community and an atmosphere that makes you feel welcomed and uplifted from the start. The classes are filled with motivation, great vibes, awesome music, lots of laughs, and people genuinely supporting each other. Aleks teaches with so much passion, care and his fun side keeps the classes light and entertaining. The team excels at meeting everyone at their individual level and they help you build your skills and confidence on the dance floor, no matter what level you’re starting from. The mini socials after each lesson are a wonderful touch - they help build community and leave everyone feeling included. They also provide a supportive space for students to ease into social dancing and gradually overcome any hesitation or nerves. And beyond the dance itself, the best part of TDS is the people - new friends, lots of laughter, and the genuine feeling of belonging that Aleks and his team always inspire. Whether you’re just beginning or continuing your salsa or bachata journey, this is the place to grow your confidence, enjoy plenty of laughs, and truly feel part of a dance community.
