Why I Dance at Andras Ballroom Academy I am often asked by friends, patients, colleagues: "Why does someone aged 70, still working full time, spend so much time taking dancing lessons and competing?" My answer? Dancing has given me a great deal of pleasure, opening new social connections while enhancing my musicality, and challenging my balance, coordination and memory. This has given me a much more upright posture and youthful attitude and appearance. This transformation would not have been possible without the dedicated teaching that I have received at Andras Ballroom Academy. Both Andras and Viara have worked tirelessly to perfect my dance technique that has enabled my success in competitions and confidence in social dancing. I look forward to every opportunity to share my love of music and dance!

I started dancing at Andras Ballroom Academy in February 2015 with the hope of improving my dancing. Since then I feel my dancing has improved immensely thanks to the excellent instruction provided by Andras and Viara. They are always professional, patient and so very helpful in demonstrating the steps and technique for each dance they are teaching in the group classes. I also take private dance classes with Andras and find that his expertise in teaching the various dances has given me a whole new understanding of how to dance correctly and with enjoyment. The dance instruction at Andras Ballroom Academy is the best and they make it fun ! ! *****Five Stars ! !

Teachers are very good and professional. And they also managed to create such a nice and friendly atmosphere, that people want to keep coming back. If you really wish to learn how to dance this is the right place for you.

Six years ago my husband decided to surprise me with an unusual birthday gift - a month of dance lessons at Andras Ballroom Academy. We always liked to dance at parties trying to improvise the moves we thought fitting to the tune but, to tell you the truth, it was scary to start doing this in a class in front of many strangers. From the very first day the atmosphere turned out to be so friendly that we forgot our worries as everyone around us was very supportive and at the same tome trying to learn too. Many of the same people are attending classes with us today and over the years we became friends. Looking back we realize that it were the teachers - Andras and Viara, who created and supported such warm and kind environment that makes people of different ages, backgrounds and skills want to come back every week and stay with the school for many seasons. Now, feeling comfortable when you are not a professional dancer (and may not be trying to become) is very important - but your goal is to learn and you always should try to learn from the best. It was much later that we have heard the details of Andras's and Viara's professional background in the world of dancing and we were impressed but at that time we already did not need to know the history. It is because they always lead by example, and this example is always a fantastic performance - whether in the class or in the show (the most anticipated number in every show our school does is their dance - and every one of the students and the audience talks about each one for weeks!). We are very fortunate to both wanting and enjoying dance lessons so much for years, but if you do not have a partner - no problem, group lessons give you a chance to lead or be led by different partners and learn from or , in a way, teach each other - which we find to be helping a lot. If you struggle, Andras and Viara would always step in and dance with you until you get that hard step right, they also work on routines, dancing as partners to their students in our shows and in competitions out there. I can only go on about all the things we do together from going to great performances in Toronto and around to watch, learn and discuss, to parties with really funny line dancing lessons. If you are looking for a dance school with very professional teachers, and at the same time value caring, kind and warm hearted atmosphere - join Andras Ballroom Academy in Richmond Hill!
