I love the folks at One Hundred so much! While I also tried Zumba with Richard and yoga with Brian, the "strengthen and stretch" classes with Maan and Anabelen were my favorite! (Unfortunately, Anabelen has since moved.) I am now living in a different part of the city and the studio is a bit too far to be my "neighborhood gym," but I wanted to sing their praises as a token of thanks. I can't attest to what she's like as a dance instructor, but as a fitness instructor, Maan's personality is almost the perfect blend of cheerleader and dominatrix. She is bubbly and enthusiastic, encouraging and kind, but she will also GIGGLE MANIACALLY when you are hurting (if it's the right type of hurt that means you're doing what the exercise is intended to do)! I found this hilarious from day one and would recommend her classes to anyone trying to get more toned and flexible.

I discovered One Hundred after looking on Groupon for some workout classes. Needless to say, I am so, so, SO happy I came across this place! A super cool studio tucked right into Lakeview, which makes it especially ideal for residents of the area. Everyone who works at One Hundred is professional, kind and FUN. The instructors put you through quite the workout and you truly feel like you are getting your money's worth! Likewise, you learn a lot about your body, such as the importance of breathing, types of stretching and particular sets you work on and do each class. It is a very inclusive and welcoming environment where participants come in at all different levels. We all jam, break a sweat and have a great time! As a former Irish dancer, it is really cool and refreshing being taught by dancers. I have been able to challenge myself to try and perfect moves that I'm not used to coming from the dancing background I am used to. Once my unlimited monthly Groupon ran out, you better believe I went back and got another! Thanks One Hundred!

I live in the area and was concerned that this was a snooty fitness studio since it had ballet and pilates equipment. Boy, was I wrong. All the instructors (& owner, Kyle and his 4 legged half, Henrietta) are friendly and always willing to help. The website is easy to use when registering for classes. Thankfully none of my classes have been too packed, Zumba can be a tight squeeze sometimes and you really do need the space. But that hour flies by so quickly, it doesn't even phase me. Purchased a Groupon and I am so glad I gave it a chance. I absolutely love the Zumba classes with Maan (she's adorable and makes it easy to follow along regardless of your level, I had 0 experience). I also tried the Open Barre and #bootcamp with Colleen on Thurs nights, which I really felt the next morning. BUTI Yoga on Mondays with Mariterese are freaking amazing! Think gyrating while in warrior pose. Lots of great hip opening exercises as I have a computer desk job. They have monthly unlimited or 10 class packages you can purchase in store via cash, check, or credit cards.
