For the size of it, the Sackville Sports Stadium has quite a bit to offer. A full sized hockey rink and curling club, along with a 6 lane, 25m pool, toddler pool and fitness centre, it's got something for everyone Ta a reasonable and family friendly price point.

Multi-purpose recreational facility with an ice surface, pools and a cycle room. The rink portion is one of the warmer ones in the Halifax area for spectators. Elevated seating running the whole length of the ice provides a good view of the on-ice action. For those who like to pace while watching their team, there is a large concourse behind the seating. There is a Subway and multiple snack machines on site. Tim’s is 3-4 minutes away if you turn left or right out of the parking lot.

My two children took a swim class here. The instructor and her fill-ins (when she was absent) were patient with my son, who has anxiety, but I wouldn't say they were particularly good or bad with kids. The first day, the instructor came and grabbed the kids who were standing directly under the class sign, mumbling the names on her check list so that my husband and children, seated at the bench just to the left of the sign, couldn't make them out. She then rushed off without our kids. There were also a few other confused parents and kids who had been left behind. Easily resolved, but illustrates the general experience. The classes are scheduled one after the other with no wiggle room, so the instructor was often visibly frustrated by my very slow, inattentive children as she was rushing to get them out of the water so she could get the next group. I'm also not sure if we had the dates wrong, but what I thought was the last day ended and without any mention of an evaluation or certificate of any kind. I had to take my daughter to the washroom and the class ended while we were still there. On my return my son was in the pool by himself (he said he got back in because he was cold), and the instructor was on the other side of the deck gathering her next class. So I was a little concerned about the lack of supervision (she knew where I was but just left him there alone), and lack of communication (instructors always seemed in a rush, and while polite enough seemed like they were trying to get away whenever asked a question... No proactive dialogue).

Swimming classes. They follow the Canadian Red Cross section levels. Coed bathrooms really small. Registration process needs to be upgraded so one can complete online rather than going to the facilities at 4 am.

Love taking my baby for parent tot swim. Staff are very welcoming. Added bonus our swim is at the same time as aqua aerobics. My baby loves the attention given by the aerobics group.
