This studio is great! Isobel is so intuitive and corrects posture throughout class. I’ve done several barre classes and have loved them. Currently doing semi-private pilates and it had been so good.

Doing a semi-private pilates class here with Isobel. Very professional, good energy, fun but still demanding. She very good at correcting techniques and providing feedback.

I attended a number of classes at the old Nepean St. location led by Isobel, Clare, and Dorothy. They were excellent classes, adapted thoughtfully to the specific needs of different students and any injuries. Every instructor was careful to assist individual students as needed in terms of correcting form and offering alternative exercises when physical limitations got in the way. It's clear that they all have a really good understanding of the body and how to improve strength, flexibility, and mobility in general. The space and equipment provided were always clean and kept in good repair. If my rating were based on the class experience alone, I would have given this studio a five-star rating. Why I will not be returning to this studio and do not recommend it to others has to do with the administration. I only attended classes between June and August (a very short time) but had several very disappointing experiences. On a few occasions I would receive a message saying that a class was cancelled because of low registration numbers, or I would be encouraged to attend a completely different class at a different time instead. While that's convenient for the business, that's quite disruptive as a client with a busy schedule who has set aside the time for a particular class. One time I was offered a more high-intensity class on a day that I'd booked a more gentle stretching class, which makes absolutely no sense as someone trying to balance high and low intensity exercises on alternating days. Scheduling became even more difficult when I was completely surprised in early August with the news that classes would not be running past August 26th, despite the fact that I'd purchased a class pack expiring September 1st. At that point I knew I wouldn't be able to use up all of the classes since my plan had involved doing 2 classes between August 26th and September 1st. On August 8th I was promised a refund for the 2 classes I wouldn't be able to use. I heard nothing more and saw nothing posted to my credit card, so I sent a follow-up e-mail on August 28th. There was no response so I e-mailed again on September 2nd. I finally received a response and thought that it would be taken care of. Again I checked my credit card and saw no refund, so I followed up again on September 6th. Only at that point was it confirmed with me that the refund was going to be processed. It's unacceptable to me for a business to take nearly a month to settle a simple refund and for me to have to repeatedly reach out to ask about it (and one of those times not being answered at all). I have switched to a studio I trust that keeps a reliable schedule of classes that are promised to run so that I can keep up with my fitness goals. Given my experiences this summer, I do not trust Whitehouse Movement to provide this level of service.
