A nice and unique Library (love, love this building in the heart of Downtown Petrolia!) with friendly and helpful staff. I also appreciate that they have a secure as well as water proof donation box around back (outdoors) to drop off no longer needed books which can be delivered day or night for convenience. Staff have been receptive to requests they do not currently have in stock, both popular and not so much, they will still make an effort to find what you are looking for which is reminiscent of a small town feel.

Walking in the doors of the historic building brought back many fond memories. Passing through the large, tall doors with my son on my shoulders was a very special experience. The staff is where my 5 star rating comes from, not the beautiful and unique craftsmanship of the building. I wasn't in the old train station long, but the entire time I was in there I was greeted and helped in the most incredible way. This building has so much to offer, you must go see and experience for yourself.

Not just a library, but the historic sites of Petrolia's former railway station. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly - also, the library sees a lot of use by street kids wanting to use the Internet. In this case I have found the staff incredibly compassionate and skilled with dealing with some of these special circumstances. Petrolia is very blessed to have not just this library but the community institution and values it represents.

This is one of the coolest library's in the country. Come check out some 1870 history.
