Whatever your view of Remington's art and life, it will expand after a visit to the Remington Art Museum. Several of his rare large bronzes are exhibited. You can get close to all the bronze sculptures to see the incredible detail. Reproductions of his popular Western bronzes are for sale in the Museum store. Did you know he was a successful and popular magazine illustrator? In 1908, a year before his untimely death, his oil painting style shifted sharply toward Impressionism. What might he have done?

This is a great place to spend the day if you were to ask me. This museum contains a large variety of unique exhibits and it features very interesting background information on each piece. The building is clean and the set up is very easy to navigate and enjoy. I had lots of fun visiting this place.

If you are interested in the art works of Frederic Remington, this is the place to see! The artist has a history living here in the North Country even though he is thought of for his works of art depicting the "Wild West" of the later half 1800's. Of note, at the White House Oval Office in Washington DC is a bronze work of art by Frederic Remington. The museum has a great selection of Remington art and good history of Frederic and his family. Frederic's father, when living in Canton, New York, fought for the Union during the Civil War. Recommend not bringing young children here and be aware that there is an entrance fee.
