Innerstellar is so much more than a yoga and Pilates studio. It's a center for healing - both injuries as well as anxiety and the mental/emotional strains of living in a big busy world. It's truly my home away from home. I thought I knew a thing or 2 about yoga before coming here but my mind was totally blown open to the idea that yoga could be more than a workout. It could be a way to connect to myself, to soothe my overstimulated brain, to develop a caring and compassionate relationship with my body, to heal my injuries and to become part of a community of people dedicated their own evolution. These tools originally helped me through a stressful period of change in my life. Since then, they have become the foundation of my self-care and in the way I now teach my own classes. It's rare to find a group of such unique yet dedicated, experienced and passionate teachers in one place. You won't go wrong no matter which class you show up to.

Innerstellar has definitely improved my health and well-being. Neck pain: I am a Physical Therapy student, so I have a lot of anatomy training and injury therapy training. I had been managing my own neck pain alone with stretching and exercises. But within one week of regular classes at Innerstellar, my neck has gotten more motion and less pain than it has in months of my own management! It's undeniable, yoga helps. Forrest and Innerstellar flow yoga may address neck pain more than other types of yoga because they incorporate nerve, tendon, and muscle stretches in the upper body chain of: fingers, wrists, shoulders, neck. (Newbies! Make sure to do these stretches more gently than you think, as nerves in your carpal tunnel, neck, and fingers may be more irritable than you'd expect.) Well-being: I LOVE the slow-paced breathing in Forrest yoga that you might not get in a faster-paced flow class. Regularly practicing this slow breathwork has a notable effect on my nervous system (how often I'm in fight or flight mode) and therefore my mood. Forrest/Innerstellar yoga stand out in this way. The teachers are quite experienced. In "All Levels" classes, Michelle was particularly careful with gentle adjustments that my body felt safe receiving, and I felt better after the adjustment. I am extremely careful of teachers adjusting my postures, because I've seen yogis get injured. I gave 4/5 because the way I rate, I'd only give 5/5 to 100% satisfaction. Also, what I happen to value in yoga- I value a variety in types of yoga practices offered at a studio(e.g. Iyengar, Ashtanga styles offered at one studio). Also, as a future healthcare provider, I value experienced professionalism. This means the highest quality of healing and teaching that only come with years of experience. Lastly, as a highly spiritual person, I also happen to value learning about yoga sutras or other traditional texts. A 5/5 star rating from me would be extremely difficult to get. So overall, Innerstellar, in my honest opinion, is a great studio with a high value for clients who want pilates, core strengthening, slow, deliberate yoga practice, regular breath work, a therapeutic perspective, and pleasant community vibes. I will continue coming here!
