Hands down the best place to bring kids for a few hours a week. Tons of fun, interactive exhibits. Great cafeteria with reasonable prices and good sized portions. The new space gallery is great. The new planetarium is amazing, my kiddo and I love laying down on the big bean bags and touring the galaxy. The rotating exhibits keep things fresh, especially when they're free admission exhibits. You have to work around the school classes, especially in the kids area (the new one seems like it'll be bigger thankfully). If you're allergic to loud, excited children then you might want to stick to early mornings or the adult-only Dark Matters nights. If you have kids, or want to recapture that feeling you had when you were a loud, excited child visiting the Space and Science Centre on a school trip, this is a definite recommend. And it has free parking! A GIANT free parking lot full of deliciously free parking. Freeeeeee!! (Apologies, I'm experiencing residual trauma from my visit to the new museum) .... free parking

Upon entering, we were very impressed, the volunteers with kind and warm (it was a cold day!) The front desk with both patient and informative. We look forward to use this over the year with our children. Definitely worth signing up for the year if you can!

The Science Centre itself is great! My grievance is with The Purple Pear Restaurant. We ate lunch there around 1pm and it was difficult to find a table as the majority of them were horribly dirty! Staff did not appear to have the time to clean them efficiently. I also found the restaurants system for delivering food to tables to be horribly flawed and a waste of time. First it took a bit for staff to explain the process - that you go sit down and a staff member will come around shouting your order number. Then to see this in action - I felt bad for staff having to walk all around the space shouting numbers and waiting for someone to respond. This system would be so much simpler if you just gave customers a table number to bring back to their table and the staff simply have to look for the number. Pretty annoying for everyone to have to hear numbers being shouted over and over again. Also I have to add that I was shocked to learn that the restaurant only had TWO highchairs! Come on! You should have 20 highchairs for how many families come through with small children! It made it very difficult to enjoy our meal when we had to have our toddler sit on our lap to eat. With some minor changes I could see this being a nice place to eat.

Very educational experience for the whole family or just with friends. I love that the exhibits are interactive. This interactivity helps you to learn and retain. Fun facts about the planets and your body. Great indoor activity especially in our long winter months.

Great place for kids and date nights! Plenty of free parking, great food at the cafe. Amazing films at the IMAX theatre. Be sure to check out the science garage, and fish feeding in the environmental gallery. Nature exchange coming soon!
