It is an incredible place to check out, like a real western frontier town. The admission was a bit pricy- then again it's a tourist attraction. Had the best ever chicken and rice soup with a bun and a huge serving of coffee. Really good value for your money in the restaurant! The gift shop is great with a wide assortment of things from jewelry to decals and hand carved walking sticks.

We loved visiting Hat Creek Ranch. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed a delicious lunch on their patio. Would definitely recommend

Great place to camp, easy to just drive in, hook ups are available as well. Had a good chat with one of the blacksmiths Glenn. Learned alot about blacksmithing and coal. Very nice man.

We loved the place and the exhibition of old buildings with the animals and the location itself. We stayed on the campground and everything was very nice and clean at a good price. But something you should know about before you arrive are the mosquitos in May. At least when we were there, they were EVERYWHERE and there were so many, that you couldn't escape! As soon as we had opened the door of our car, there were about 200 mosquitos immediately in the car in every little corner flying around. It was an adventure and to say that again, we really loved the place, the campground and the exhibition itself. Only the mosquitos are a problem. So if you go there, consider to cover yourself in a mosquito net before you open the door and consider not to open the door to your sleeping department before 11pm and after 7 am......
