Normally a good theatre, last visit was poor. May be understaffed, long slow lines. During our visit the fire alarm went during the last 30 minutes of the movie. At first many of us thought it was part of the movie as we could only slightly hear the alarm. When we realized we left with the rest of the theatre. Seemed to be no emergency preparedness as the 1 staff member we saw didn't seem to know what people should be doing. Thankfully everyone got out and no real fire. Thank you Salmon Arm fire department for coming. When asked if movie was resuming same staff member (saw no others) gave coupons for another visit which will not assist us as we camping nearby. I hope those we gave the coupons to enjoy!!!

Went to see Avengers: Infinity War the Tuesday after opening weekend. My husband and I were one of the first in line waiting for the doors to open. We watched through the doors as staff scrambled around trying to get somewhat organized for the mad rush. Unfortunately, they did not open the doors on time which is very frustrating for a mob of very passionate fans that have been waiting 10 years for this movie. But opening the doors late is not reason enough for me to give the theatre a bad review - no unfortunately there were a couple more incidences that infuriated the anxiously waiting crowd. #1) Staff were very slow. I understand this is a local theater and that many people you would see might be a friendly face, however not EVERY person visiting your theater is a local and a lot of us would prefer you to be courteous and EFFICIENT and get the massive line through in a timely matter. We did not appreciate waiting way longer than we needed to because staff were socializing with people they knew. Being friendly is one thing, being chatty and slow is another. #2) The movie was 30 minutes late to start. I do NOT understand why you advertise a movie starting at a specific time and then starting it a half an hour later than the advertised time. Unbeknownst to you apparently, some people make plans and look at showtimes and the run times and plan around said times. It is very understandable in being maybe a few minutes late... but 30?! #3 and the worst of all) STARTING THE MOVIE 5 MINUTES INTO IT! We as moviegoers like to enjoy the FULL movie. Not 98% of it... 100% of the movie. Especially one that has been one of the (if not the singular) most anticipated movies for the past 5 years! As a fan of the franchise, and as a person who was unable to score opening night tickets.. I've had to dodge spoilers left and right. And just when I can finally take a breath because I know I'm about to finally see the movie.. the movie theater itself gives massive spoilers. Thanks for that.

The second theatre built in Salmon Arm. It is really fun to spend an evening here and it is big. It is part of a new wave compared to the classic theatre.

The staff are really friendly. They have a decent variety of snacks and candies to choose from as well as their new as well as their new mini Donuts, which are delicious and warm. This theater is always very clean and the bathroom always smells like vanilla cupcakes.

The Salmar is a great theatre. Comfy seats, 3d movies and good snacks. Being a non-profit Salmar has lower prices and supports the local community.
