Those movies you wish you could have seen in theatres when they first came out? You can probably catch em here. Local/small filmmakers who want to gain some followers? This place puts on smaller films fairly often. Oh, and the concession is super awesome!

One of the best experiences in Vancouver. I love this place and everyone in it. I've gone to a few shows here, each one different and fun. They have everything from burlesque, comedy, movies.... Comfortable, good drinks, real butter for your popcorn and super friendly staff. Plus, it's super affordable! Especially for what you get out of it. 10/10 will go again.

What can I say? The Rio is an East Van landmark and one of my favorite places to see a show, live or otherwise. From viewings of cult classics (Labyrinth, Rocky Horror), to burlesque, and more, there's always something fun happening here. And with boozy drinks, popcorn, and candy, the Rio has you covered for snacks. There isn't another place in Vancouver like it and I hope to spend many more fun-filled evenings at the Rio.

The annual Harry Potter burlesque show is *unbelievably* good. I saw several burlesque shows in Toronto and thought Vancouver would have a hard time measuring up. Boy was I wrong. It was hands down the best burlesque show I’ve ever seen.
