Great little theater. Went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory performance where young children from the Richmond Academy of Dance performed and thought acoustics were very good given the size. Staff are friendly and accommodating for families with special needs. Food and drink options are a bit limited but good overall.

I really like the Gateway. I have attended three times. Twice for plays put on by the theatre and once for one of my kids' performance. The theatre is cozy and unassuming but the inside is very nice. Good sound from the theatre as well. We watched a musical last year and Charles Dicken's 'A Christmas Carol'. Both productions were fantastic! Last time I went there I saw the upcoming productions and there are a couple I will be taking the kids to this winter.

Every seat is a good seat. I wish there was more parking but it’s not too bad finding street parking nearby. Good sound, good venue.

Every single year, our ballet performance is set here and it still stuns me with its beauty when I go on to perform!

The Gateway Theatre is truly a local gem. The quality of productions is uniformly outstanding and the program is diverse, challenging and sometimes even provocative. The opening night receptions are open to all and this conveys the non-elitist, yet highly professional, atmosphere that permeates the operation. The current artistic director, Jovanni Sy further enhances this personable yet professional atmosphere.
