Interesting history and great museum. The tour and tour guide was excellent. Very enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and entertaining. Going into a small section of the mines and seeing the mining equipment they used was fascinating. Worth the stop off the sea to sky highway. There is also a small gift shop and cafe at the site.

After visiting Sea to Sky Gondala on our way back went to this Mine museum. Tickets EXPENSIVE. No doubt. But every one must see and appreciate to understand to get an idea of what is mining, how dangerous and miners put their lives on line day-in-day out. Particularly all school principals must make an arrangement with this mine museum management and arrange/ ensure students exposed to this "knowledge" which is a life skill. Nothing negative to add except the ticket cost. Please consider to reduce in the interest of educating people. Last but not least, a guide named Laura is an asset to this museum for the guided train tour (short though). Very impressive vocal command and the passion in delivering tour to make everyone to understand. The train tour, with real demonstration of operating some real drilling heavy equipment is impressive. Good work! Suggestion: In future add a high platform at the 3rd mill, to see how the rocks was broken and powdered to extract minerals.

Once the largest copper producing mine in the British Empire, it was fascinating to put on a hard hat and actually ride down into the mine where our knowledgeable guide showed is how the men worked with only hand tool to shovel tons a day, at first u only candlelight. We also went into a building where they did another stage of the process, and looked at the incredible number of steps they climbed. And we got to pan for gold and other ore.

Used to go there as a kid all the time and decided to revisit it as an adult. All of the cool things that I loved as a kid are still cool! We took the train ride and some of the kids were getting restless but the demonstrator did a great job silencing them in a kind way. The guide was very interactive and interesting.

We had a great time here. The underground mine tour is the best. And the gold panning experience. I had to practically drag my kids and husband away. You get to keep the gems and gold you find. Fun and educational for the whole family.
