Very high quality performances aimed towards younger children, but all theatre enthusiasts with find something to enjoy. How the Grinch Stole Christmas and The Jungle Book are my favorites from the past, but they’re always opening new and diverse shows. Great representation. For students interested in acting, they have FANTASTIC musical theatre classes based on experience and grade. They also offer summer camps. The teachers bring the same energy from the stage performances to the classrooms, which are located right beneath the theaters. I believe they now offer audition workshops regularly, too, if you would like to be a part of a show. The Children’s Theatre is a fun opportunity for families, and you can always check out the museum while you’re there. Good location: it’s near many good restaurants and a park.

The children selected to perform in their musicals/plays are EXCELLENT. You do not feel like you are missing on anything by having children be the actors and actresses. The stage production and props are also very clever! 100% would go any time someone asked me too! Prices are very reasonable as well for the talent you're viewing!

We've seen many performances here over the years. Always entertaining. The Q and A after the matinee performances are a favorite for my kids who enjoy the behind the scenes look. I enjoy how they bring literary classics to life. Performances on the main stage can be too long for small children. If your kids can't sit through a feature length movie, I'd wait a bit longer. An average kindergartener should be able to enjoy the entire show.

OMG! Corduroy was absolutely amazing. My wife (undergrad in theater) and her sister a current stage manager were completely blown away. My mother, one year old son, and I loved it. It was my son's first play so we got front row, which we able to get on discount because we get food assistance for him. He sat still the entire show which was a miracle! The large stadium seating could be overwhelming to individuals with sensory issues or anxiety, and there were in fact a couple kids who didn't want to be there. Sold out but many didn't show up. After the break the open seats seemed to be fair game for people to move closer. Bring hidden snacks, or visit the deli on the top floor of Mia an hour before the show.. We did both. Very clean restrooms.

Children's Theatre is a great place for kids of all ages. They have multiple performance spaces, including the main stage, and always put together a stellar cast. If you have little ones that can't necessarily sit for an entire show, there is a quiet room in the back where you can watch the show. Does you child have sensitive ears? No problem! There are child headphones available for free to protect their ears during shows with special effects. Just turn them back in at the end of the show. Parking is either free on the street or you can pay for the ramp immediately across from the stage door. Everyone should go to the Children's Theatre at least one time!
