Absolutely gorgeous theater. Well kept. Lines were fast & staff works efficiently but friendly to get you seated properly. I attended the Beach House show and the sound was impeccable! Would definitely attend a show here again. Recommend taking the train because the parking situation seems obsolete/pricey.

The theatre itself is gorgeous! And the people working inside were mostly helpful. With that said, I arrived at 7pm for a 730pm start show on June 13. It was very hot outside. The line to get into the theatre was already a city block and a half long on each side of the theatre....so one line to the north of the theatre and another to the South of the theatre. Both lines went around the corner. Neither line moved for at least 20 minutes. So, by the time the line I was in (the South line) started moving, I was in the middle of the line, and the show that I paid almost $200 to see was starting in 10 minutes. At scheduled show start time, I was still waiting to get in to the theatre. I was sweating. I was stressed. I was annoyed. And then, when I finally made it closer to the theatre doors, a large man started screaming at everyone in the lines as if we were at fault. He was bullying people and even appeared to try to pick a fight with my husband. We were just peacefully waiting in line...a big massive line of people who are now LATE for a show we've been waiting for almost 45 minutes to get in to. I asked another man working there about the holdup and he snapped at me saying "well, lady, I guess you should have gotten here earlier. This is what happens when everyone all tries to come at the same time and all at the very last minute." Now, at this point, all of us have been waiting for over 45 minutes and are still NOT in the building. The show was already started. I was furious and sweating bullets. We finally got in a few minutes later. This has soured my perspective on the Chicago theatre completely. I realize this was probably their "security" company's fault, but as a patron, that all reflects so very poorly on the theatre.

Awesome intimate theater. Great architecture that all can admire from any seat. Sound for concerts is great. I wish there were more bathrooms though. On the balcony level I believe there were 2 toilets in the only men's room. There was always a line.

Beautiful theater. It's very easy to locate. There's parking garages available around it for those looking for parking or you can take the train. No matter where you sit in the theater, there's no such thing as a bad seat. You can see the show from any angle.

Really enjoyed the theatre itself, very beautiful, clean, and the snack prices were reasonable, especially since you get a discount with a Chase card. Security takes a long time but you do get a warning e-mail to show up an hour early so you can't fault them for that- the building was just not built to accommodate security lines that we need now. There were just a few cons: They allow people to leave and enter as they please to buy drinks, so I felt like it was constant getting up and down. I get emergencies, but it was less than a 2 hour show... they should stop selling drinks before they start. And they let people in almost an hour late. Even the artists pointed out that people kept getting up and down. It had to be distracting for the performers- it was certainly distracting as an audience member. I also had an issue with a staff member during a VIP meet and greet. I was a single party, and the photo was a photo op with "your group." But single parties obviously don't have a group, so the artist's management had decided to allow people alone to get solo photos. Everyone alone was approached privately by the artist's team and told this as to not encourage people that were in a group to pretend to be alone. But a Chicago Theatre staff member very loudly complained after the (also solo) girl in front of me said she was one that EVERYONE was going to be one because they weren't making people take their photos with strangers, which I guess other artists have done in this situation... I felt so guilty for saying "one" when she asked that I apologized and the other employee standing next to her told me I shouldn't have to apologize for being alone. I also felt like a lot of the ushers wanted to talk to each other and not help people find their seats- which I normally don't care about, like, I get it, it's not a great job I'm sure, but I was already feeling annoyed about the one employee's comment that everything got on my nerves.
