We stayed in the pet friendly room, 2 adults 1 child and a dog. This room was dirty, the bathroom smelled of old urine and where the wallpaper was peeling there appeared to be mold in the bathroom too, which would explain the odd odours. The carpet felt like it had a film on it, we ended up putting our sandals back on since it was gross to walk on. The pizza from the restaurant was good we just took it to go, the breakfast was decent but the service was not great, there were only 3 tables but the waitress did not come to check on us once. Overall, I would reccomend pizza takeout from here but I would never stay here again.

Cool old hotel. Clean and quiet with one of the only restaurants in town. I would stay again.

Wabush Hotel, or the Sir Wilfred Grenfell Dining Room, is a decent place for Chinese food if you're craving a buffet, though my last visit did have a few points against it. First of all, the selection was quite small. There was one strip of buffet food out, when previous visits had much more. I'm not sure if the expanded buffet is a weekend feature, but more selection would be nice throughout the week as well. Second, some music or something to listen to would have been nice. The atomsphere was almost too quiet. Thirdly, the server did not come back to check on us after the initial setting. Even a top up of water would have been appreciated. Other than that, the food tasted good and the restaurant itself was pretty clean. Will revise and add more stars if a larger selection is provided, and the atomsphere is a little more lively during our next visit.

This hotel is nothing fancy. But everything works; the WiFi, the shower, the tv; and the beds are comfy.

clean room but dated. We did not go to the restaurant but heard others talking and they thought the food was good
