My wife Nan and I arrived for the first time in late May 2016 to begin a 3 month house sit in Canyon Lake. That morning, not knowing what to expect, we were greeted warmly with a genuine spirit of hospitality and love. That was just at the door as we made our way in. During the Peace, we were made to feel the secure joy of worshiping with others who loved the Lord. On the way out, we were invited to several study groups and socials through the week...a true sign of making us feel belonged and wanted. We returned the following Sunday and have visited now for 10 weeks. We will be sorry to leave as we have made a number of friends in the relatively short stay. Apart from the warmth of the congregation, there is really sound and structured teaching by Fr. David Chalk. He has the heart of both a pastor and a teacher. His sermons address the spiritual meaning for each listener to consider, take away and adopt. His teaching classes provide a broad cultural, linguistic and theological context to the Scripture under consideration and I found them so compelling as to not want to miss a single one. St. Francis also supports local and worldwide mission work and so, encourages anyone who cares to be a member of the whole body of Christ. Dean As for me, Nan, I have just loved the genuine, honest, frankness of our new friends here at St Francis. No fake schmultzy, forced stuff - I haven't laughed and enjoyed myself so much in a church fellowship for such a long time! And in amongst it all the stimulation of magnificent teaching.Thank you, Father David. Also, I have been enjoying singing my heart out with the wonderful Summer Choir - one word for it all, no two - PURE JOY!!
