A well maintained theatre that is not showing it's 50 years. From the trumpets sounding the 10 minute warning to the humourous voice over about turning off your phones, it makes for an entertaining afternoon and/or evening. There is a lovely garden. At the front of the theater ( although there seemed to be a preponderance of phlox thus year). The info staff and ushers are well educated on the theatres offerings . They had a pleasant Interview of two of the main actors in the play that had just been performed hosted by a well known critic. It was interesting to hear the actors' perspective of the characters they inhabit.

THE premiere place to see theatre in Canada. I grew up coming to Stratford every year with high school. The Shakespeare plays are always thought provoking and beautifully staged. The modern plays and musicals are fantastic and engaging. The casts and crews are professional and wonderful examples to young actors. And the setting - the Festival Theatre on the banks of the Avon River, the Avon Theatre in the heart of the small Ontario town of Stratford (take the time to dine, shop and explore) is priceless. It's a lovely experience for an afternoon or for a weekend. One of the mandatory experiences in Ontario.

Fantastic performance of "To kill a mocking bird" ... the director did take a bit of dramatic license with the book, but it did not deter from the wonderful acting and overall performance. We're so blessed to have such wonderful performing arts Center here in southern Ontario. I'd have to say, the overall experience exceeds the theaters we visited in Toronto recently. Keep up the great work, we'll certainly return.

We attended the Stratford Festival's "The Music Man" and were blown away by the performance. The performers were energetic and believable in the portrayal of their characters. The youth actors were as professional as the seasoned pros and could they sing! The music was lively and I am still singing the tunes after a week. The theatre itself is wonderfully laid out with a stage that juts into the semi circular seats. This means that even sitting at the back, you feel close to the stage and the performers (including the leads) use the entire stage, so sitting to the side is not a problem as you will still feel the play is directed to you. If you get a chance to see this performance, you should definitely go.

Culture in fine form. Easy seating..not a bad seat in the house. Expensive as a typical venue for snacks and drinks but worth it. Nice gift area and beautiful gardens. Looking forward to the next play. Saw The Tempest this time...it was fabulous!!!
