A fun place for an afternoon with the family watching an art house film. The facilities are a bit rough around the edges, but I expect that of an independent theater of this era. It could be gorgeous with the right budget, but I definitely recommend supporting them to feel this little diamond in the rough open for years to come.

A fun cinema experience without all the glitz of modern cineplexes. Good snacks, great films and moat importantly everyone there is there to watch films and not check their phones

I love the art theater, if you are looking to be around the Champaign community it definitely is a good place to be. The art theater thrives for a full experience by having discussions after the movies or various activities, usually, in collaboration with the university. For instance when we went to see the Rocky horror picture show, a performance group from UofI had the spectators participate in games before the show and performed during the movie. If you don't feel like being social, there are also simple screenings as well.😁 There are also opportunities to become a member, meaning support a local business! I don't remember all the perks that comes with a membership but it is definitely something to look into!

The best little theater in all of the land. The atmosphere, the special events, everything about this place is nothing short of amazing. Go and see them and you won't be disappointed.
