I’m so impressed with the museum and the knowledgeable volunteers. Mr Wolowich’s wood working was definitely the highlight of our visit. Unfortunately, this is not a great museum for little ones who need a more hands on experience. We constantly had to tell our kids to look and not touch.

Very cool place with a lot of old things. The owner is very knowledgeable about the historical buildings and items on his property and was able to tell us some fun things about them. My daughter loved the one room school house.

A tremendous way to experience pioneer life in NW Ontario. Guided tours for young and old can be arranged in advance. A great photo background for weddings, grads, family reunions, company picnics or birthdays, etc. Also available are a country church and hall for rent. Admission to the museum is by donation.

This is a gem and totally worth the visit! So many historical artifacts from the late 1800s are set up in buildings from the same period...it is a great place to see if you are a history buff and even if you aren't. There are old cars and tractors and farm equipment, an old church and schoolhouse, fully stocked general store, and the list goes on. It's worth the short drive out of Thunder Bay to see this wonderful museum and pioneer village!
