Best Buy

My wife and I purchased a Bosch 300 Series Dishwasher from Best Buy in Kanata, Ontario (Canada) in August of 2015. The Best Buy sales representative who helped us select the Bosch model highly recommended that we purchase an Extended (Protection) Warranty on the Bosch Dishwasher, telling us at the time that this was a "wise investment." We purchased the Extended Warranty at time of purchase, thinking that if anything went wrong with the Bosch, we would be well taken care of. Unfortunately, this has NOT been the case and we are extremely unhappy with Geek Squad and Best Buy for recommending them. Several months ago, just 3.75 years since the Bosch was installed in our kitchen, we noticed that the dishes, glasses and cutlery were getting strange spots and stains after the unit cleaned them. We tried cleaning the damaged dishes by soaking them in water and vinegar and then scrubbing them using a paste of baking soda and water, but could not clean some of them with this extra manual effort, especially the glasses. Some of our glasses have been permanently stained and therefore have been thrown out. We called Geek Squad in late April 2019 and their local technician came to service the Bosch dishwasher on May 8, 2019 and then again on June 14, 2019. He has been here twice and we have shown him many samples of the problem. He has taken pictures of the stained and spotted dishes and submitted a report to Geek Squad. During his last service call, he told us that there is a design issue with the unit that he cannot fix. However, despite our many recent calls to the Geek Squad Call Centre about the Bosch and these problems , they told us that "there is nothing wrong and nothing to be repaired" with the unit. When we asked the Geek Squad Call Centre to replace the defective dishwasher which we thought was covered by them, according to the Extended Warranty which we purchased in August of 2015, Geek Squad denied responsibility and told us that there was nothing further that they could do. On June 25, 2019, we called Bosch in Montreal, and were told that they were also unwilling to help us as we were under contract with Geek Squad. All of this leads us to believe that the Geek Squad coverage is worthless and not worth the money charged by Best Buy. We also have had such a bad experience with the Bosch, we will avoid purchasing another appliance from this company.

The sales guy looked up Google when I asked what should have been pretty basic questions on some Bose audio products. I can use Google! Well laid out store though with plenty of tech for the needs of almost anyone heading into the store.

I didn't realize this store still existed because I just assumed planet Amazon had taken over the world. But I guess it used to be the Best Buy in the old days long before the days of Amazon and other online giants. Well good luck! I will miss the brick and mortar and human contact in real life!

Overall very good. They need to improve their stock quality at times however that is the nature of retail these days.

I've visited the store during the Black Friday sales. Despite being considerably busy, the BestBuy staff were helpful and an employee was willing to help me find an item. The store itself is really clean, albeit it is rather small in comparison to others.
