We had a not so pleasant experience with this tour, we went on August 5th at 1:30 pm. We booked the zodiac boats to go whale watching. paid the same price as all the other people (we asked people who works there) and we got put on a boat with seats that faces the inside where just next to our boat, they had seats that all face the outside with perfect views. Not only that, but we got crammed into the two seats that has a huge metal wall in front of us. (It’s a part of where the captain sits). See picture for reference. The whole time we were moving we had to stay in our seats and we were literally starring at this white metal wall or twist our body to see the water. I had discomfort in my neck after my trip and I never had neck or back problem. My husband is pretty tall and he had a backpack. His knee was pushing against the wall and He had to shove his backpack under the seat which was fine, only to find out it got all wet when we pull it out after the trip. We did see whales but if it’s on the other side we pretty much couldn’t see anything because of the wall. We missed the view of a humpback whale that was on the other side and it dove down right after. I can say it was bad luck to be put into those seats but at 90$ per seat, I think every seat should be relatively similar and not have some seats that’s amazing and some that are “too bad suckers” seats that totally ruin the experience. Especially when you can see how others have perfect seats and when asked to have seat switched, they rudely said no. I have to say the captain who drove our boat was very nice and pointed out where the whales are/what whale they are.

Omg you have to do this it's a must for every bucket list. Tristan was an awesome bilingual captain. The placement Tristan chose to rest in the middle of the whales while they ate, they came almost as close as reaching distance from the zodiac. AML provides all necessary apparel. Word to the wise, wear a bandana or head scarf to avoid scalp sunburn. The whole excursion so exciting, exhilarating! Worth the trip north and journey! I hope to return! Tristan, merci beaucoup!
