Definitely DO NOT fly Flair Air. The risk far outweighs saving a few bucks. In my case, I ended up spending 10x more money in time, effort and lost luggage than I would've if I just paid $100 more to fly with a reputable airline. I figured that a short direct flight from Calgary to Vancouver should be okay but they ended up losing my luggage and it's been an absolute nightmare. It's been 4 days and we haven't had any communication from Flair. An agent happened to be around when we landed and we shortly realized how lucky we were that she was there b/c since then, there's been absolutely NO human to talk to. Phone numbers don't work and emails only have autoreplies. We've gone to the airport everyday since to chase down an agent, which are only available when there's a flight arriving or departing. It's futile b/c the general answer is "there's nothing we can do". They refuse to let us talk to a supervisor. So our luggage is lost, our trip is ruined and we are out at least $1800 (only counting what's in our luggage and not what we had to buy to survive the last 4 days). They refuse to compensate anything for 21 days meaning that they can take their sweet time to drag out the process so that they don't have to pay any $$ for losing passenger's bags. It was a direct flight from Calgary to Vancouver. It was the last flight out of Calgary and last flight into Vancouver. There's nowhere else that needs to be checked. We spent the year planning a trip to do the Westcoast Trail and now our tent, sleeping bag and the rest of the camping gear is somewhere in the abyss. So that's my conclusion: THE RISK IS NOT WORTH THE SAVINGS

terrible airline. don't fly with them. awful customer service. I encountered a glitch on their website and was charged for a feature I didn't select. They refused to acknowledge the glitch or offer any compensation ie a credit at all... all over 40$. I would hate to encounter a bigger problem. Terrible, terrible airline.

This is a cheap airline, so none of the odd extra fees really surprised me. An extra $10 to check in early. An extra $10 to have them print your boarding pass. No entertainment system on the flight. No snacks or drinks on the flight. Tightly packed uncomfortable seats. All of this is pretty standard for a cheap flight and none of it was surprising with Flair Airlines. What was surprising was showing up to the airport at 7:30am for a 9:30am flight, only to find out that the flight is delayed until 1:30pm -- four hours due to a "scheduling issue". Not a problem with the airport. Not a problem with the tarmac or the plane like you typically see. They can't figure out how to schedule a plane. I don't know where the schedule issue is -- staffing or a miscommunication with the airports -- but any airline that cannot run basic tasks like this does not deserve your money.

So many traps and hidden fees with this cheap airline, I did a lot of research hoping to avoid them but still fall right into the trap. Be ware when you check-in your return trip online, it will say there is existing check-in bag, but you don't. The check-in bag you purchased doesn't covers the return trip, it says you have it on the website but it is just to trick you to pay extra $15 at the airport.

Systemic baggage loss issues. Absolutely terrible, phone number only works monday to friday till 5pm and is long distance, not toll free. They lost one of our checked bags on Friday on a direct flight form Vancouver to Calgary and had no desk at airport when landing. We filed lost baggage claim and called to no avail. we have emailed and hunted down reps at airports during sceduled check ins for other flights over the weekend. No one can tell us if or when we will get a bag back and all direct us to email. we have sent 6 emails in last 4 days with all details and have recieved no responses. Today (Monday) their Kelowna head office opened and we called.. guess what? they told us to email as they have no info and dont deal with bags directly..... Fly at your own risk and only check items you are not afraid to lose. We also ran into another flair air customer at airport while trying to get info who had also lost her bag, no agent available for her when she landed so we helped her out with the process she has no professional clothes for a job interview the next day and we lost all our camping gear for a 4 day hike on the west coast trail starting tomorrow. It is now day 4 with no update on baggae or response to our emails, and 4 days of our vacaction with no clothes or gear we are out of pocket significanly and would not recommend this airline to anyone. It could end up costing you way more than you save... it sure did for us.
