The airport itself is very nice, and modern. The location is unmatched for Toronto. That being said this review is mostly for their main tenant, Porter Airlines. Porter has gotten very cheap over the last couple of years. First, while airlines have a trend to start charging for checked-in bags, Porter now charges for Carry-on bags for some fares. Despite carry on being more expensive to check in (when traveling with their basic fare), they take your bag before entering the plane for a "gate check." When flying to Toronto they make you pick up the bag at the conveyor belt after Canada Customs (which is where you would get the checked-in bag). Second, when on my Porter Flight, I asked for a can of coke when they asked me what drink I wanted. The flight attendant told me that she cannot give me a can of coke since there are other passengers on the plane who need to be served, she proceeded to give me a glass of coke with ice. So cheap over a can of soda, its outrageous and very sad. I would happily pay $1 dollar for a coke if its so hard for them. Finally, Porter user to give out snacks and drinks at Billy Bishop Airport (cookies, soda, water, pretzels) they did the same at their gate in Newark - now its all gone. Now we get nothing. Its sad, Porter use to be something we use to look forward to. Now they've just become cheap.

If you can find the fights, it's best to go through Billy Bishop. Very much convenient and quicker compared to Pearson airport. No long line-ups and super quick security screening. Fairly short walk in the underground tunnel. 👍

During my brief two years as an industry analyst I had to travel to Toronto repeatedly and on my first trip no one advised me about the pain in the a$$ nature of getting to downtown from the international airport. If you fly to Toronto for business in the financial services sector from most major cities on the US east coast or midwest catch one of the flights on Porter Airlines to this airport, then walk or take the ridiculously short but ferry across. In the warm months of the year it is beautiful and faster than the international airport by far, especially if you are staying and working downtown or near the Toronto waterfront.

Security was an absolute breeze - no one in front of us, friendly employees. The gate area itself is spacious, with comfortable seating that's spread out/you don't feel like you're on top of other people. Lots of available outlets for charging. There's a convenience store with a surprisingly good book selection given how small it is, as well as a restaurant. You can purchase a beer to enjoy in the comfy chairs in the gate area, or stay in the restaurant seating. Oh, and the free Wi-Fi was working well when I was there.

Bishop Toronto City Airport has seriously underestimated the importance the customer experience. The simplicity of a free cup of Starbucks coffee and some shortbread cookies made higher fare and the trek downtown worth it. Just paid $3.40 for a cup.....and then I had to make my own coffee which was definitely not Starbucks and definitely not worth paying for at all 🤢🤮! Bacon like substance, Egg n Cheese sandwich = $16.95 I'm out....see you next time Toronto Pearson International Airport!! #byebishBYE
