I'm sure it would've been 5 stars if all the contemporary exhibits had been open. Unfortunately only the upstairs is currently, which was a shame as that was really good. Other exhibits were good. Enjoyed the temporary Impressionist thing from the Dutch collector. The indigenous contemporary art was also fascinating. Less keen on the Middle age European art but that's often just a personal opinion and I've seen few places do something very interesting with them.

Wonderful place to walk through, they have a very nice assortment of art in their exhibitions and it is quite large, expect to be walking for awhile! Their Canadian section is lovely and has lots of pieces to catch your interest. They had a silver smith exhibition going when I went and it showed off some stunning silver pieces! I wish I had another day to walk around and see it all!

This is a must-see in Ottawa. Bring comfy walking shoes and a good few hours to see the whole gallery! If you want to see the gift shop you can pop in without seeing the gallery. It's probably the best gift shop in the city! Lots of local art and design with gifts and products directly related to the current gallery showings.

Really nice gallery. There are quite a few impressionist paintings including Monet and Renoir. I can spending a whole day here. The lobby looks Really nice and relaxing. I can sit around and order a coffee there. Support the gift store and buy some prints - great price. Don’t forget it’s always free admission every Thursday from 5pm to 8pm. Please let your friends know about it.

Must visit gallery when you are in Ottawa. I wish in had a section for small children (2-5 yrs of age). The architecture bus beautiful as well. The gallery is free on Thursday evenings as well. There was construction going on when we visited but it did not deter from the experience. They are also currently running a special exhibition for impressionism.
