Friendly easy service was pretty quick and strait forward

We are sorry that most people don't understand the difference between a "consensual tow" Meaning that someone calls us directly to provide a service for them. They are there to pay for the service when we arrive and if it needs to be towed. They directs us where they want it to go. For "Non-consensual tow" Meaning usually there is no legal owner with the vehicle. In instances where the owner was taken to the hospital, Jail or it was a stolen recovery. Also when directly required to be impounded by a police agency ( DUI, DWLS, or involved in a crime ). These type fee's are always higher. It legal requires us to be a RTTO ( registered Tow Truck Operator ). To provide this service we have a lot higher insurance costs. We have higher licensing fee's. Have to be bonded. We have to have a state approved impound lot. We are inspected annually by the Washington State patrol and or local police agencies. We are required to be available 24 hr a day.We have to have someone answer the phone 24 hr a day. Drivers are required to be on call and respond within 20 minutes during the day and 40 minutes at night. Most newer tow trucks these days cost between $75,000 to $100,000 and get 6 MPG. We don't expect everyone to realize this, but this is the reason why we can't afford to impound a vehicle for $50.00. If you or someone you loved were involved in a motor vehicle accident and needed to be transported to the hospital. We are the ones that take possession of your vehicle to protect your personal belonging and property. We are the ones on the road at 2 in the morning when the drunk drivers hit your loved ones. We are the ones that get to clean up the mess, recover the vehicles and safely store your property. We are also the ones that proudly impound the DUI's and legally hold the vehicles for 12 hr to prevent them from killing someone If everyone could really understand the Job that is required of us, Our drivers and dispatchers. They would probably realize we are under paid and under recognized for the job we do.

Update: $650 for release after 4 days (counting a weekend and a holiday!), plus another $110 to have it brought home, because storage is $60/ day. This is on an owner request tow. I spoke to the police, and they clearly marked non-impound tow on their form. Gateway says every car they get is impounded, but it's just a dirty trick to justify their price gouging. Apparently also, 3 or 4 other tow companies in the county are owned by these same thieves, so watch out. Con-artists and liars, the worst kind of buisness to deal with. DO NOT CALL GATEWAY TOWING, you'll regret it. The Poulsbo Police department was actually quite helpful, hopefully they will stop using these scumbags.

In July I broke down on the highway, Gateway's towing treated me very well, the driver was very helpful with finding an honest mechanic shop to bring my car to. Thanks.

Don't call these guys unless you want to pay impound fees, doesn't matter who was at fault. I got hit, now I'm shelling out hundreds to get my wrecked car back to my house. Poulsbo PD's lapdogs.
