First Choice Auto Repair Ponoka is a small family run business, they are very professional, respectful, honest, and hard working. They make sure your vehicle is fixed efficiently and keep your cost to a minimum and do only necessary work. I am very thankful I have them to rely on for repairs!

Very poor customer service my brother died in his vehicle on the highway on December 22, 2016. The RCMP had Ponoka Towing tow his vehicle. (Ponoka Towing is part of First Choice Auto and Truck Repair). I called ponoka towing obviously distraught looking to retrieve my brothers personal belongings in his vehicle. At the time he was living in his vehicle and everything he owned was in it. The owners of Ponoka Towing said I had to pay the towing fee before they would release the contents of the vehicle. We required legal documents from the vehicle to arrange his funeral. I found them to be unreasonable, and voiced my emotional concern and explained they could keep the car and that I just required some of the contents. The female owner then said I could pay a gate entrance fee. I thought that may be reasonable. I asked her what the entrance fee was and she replied, in what to me seemed like a smug voice, the cost of the towing. She seemed to relish in my pain. She was cold and unsympathetic . When I naturally got emotional, she hung up on me. I called back several times and she would not answer the phone. I left a message apologizing for my behavior and asked her to call me back and let me know what the cost of the towing was. She did not return my call. We drove from Edmonton to Ponoka shortly after to pay for the towing fee. When I paid the fee , she was as cold as she was on the phone. There was one young lady who was at the front with the owner who did give me a gentle smile (I appreciated that). The vehicle was in their lot for 1.5 days and they were so kind as to not charge me for storage. We took the belongings and left the car. Not a bad deal for them. They get $252.00 and a vehicle they can sell. As a very reasonable person, I was having a hard time wrapping my head around the actions of this business. In the end I have to accept that they had their reasons for this harsh policy, however in my mind the decision that Ponoka Towing made was a decision to give up their human decency in exchange for the almighty buck.
