The front service reps were very as helpful as they could be under the circumstances of a yelling manager. The manager (or who appeared to be a manager) was yelling at staff and customers about how the desk agents could not and will not help them if they can use the U-Haul 24/7 service. I attempted to use this service and the web said I had no equipment put aside. Luckily the desk agent was kind enough to help me, even though her manager had just told all the staff not to. The manager then brought the vehicle to me, did not greet me, grabbed paper from my hand, and gave it back forcefully saying “take this” in a very unprofessional manner. It was disappointing to see someone with authority at U-Haul with such low customer standards.

We knew we were pushing it by not having a reservation, but were told by a smaller Uhaul outlet to call this one and see if they had more options/availability. Dartmouth didn't answer their phone so we drove over. Blonde woman laughed in our face when we asked at the counter if we could rent a truck. She said we could hang around and see if a 26' truck might be free. While we were waiting, the woman was running around and at one point told everyone parked in the marked customer spots at the front of the store to move or "you're going to get hit" by the rental trucks driving through. Came across bizarrely threatening and sure enough, we went outside to move our car and a truck comes barrelling into the parking lot with a massive exhaust cloud trailing behind it looking fairly reckless. After 30 minutes at the Dartmouth store I received no service and went back to the other outlet (McIntosh Run in Spryfield - 10/10 for that guy!)

To start off My vehicle was not ready at my location in Halifax so they eldest me 14km out of the way in the opposite direction of my move. Though it was inconvenient the person at the counter agreed to deduct the distance from my charges. I returned the vehicle with the tank reading where they turned it over to me, was told there would be no additional charges then someone there rang through a $50 charge which they couldn’t explain almost a month after my move. I launched a fraud investigation with my bank and they informed me U-Haul took down my debit information and there is a pre-authorization code they input to allow themselves to do this without the bank being able to intercede. Save yourself tremendous hastle and possible theft.
