HEADS UP WARNING!!!! THIS REVIEW IS NOT NICE.... Let me just start off by saying I live in Toledo, Ohio. Me and a good friend of mine decided to go Detroit to enjoy the weather and check out the city. We stopped at McDonald's on Woodward. Parked in the parking lot for McDo and went inside. With the drive being over an hour we had to use the bathroom. The men's bathroom was locked and we both had to use the restroom. We had planned on sitting down and eating but we had to use a restroom first. Apparently at this McDonald's you have to be "BUZZED" in to use the restroom. No sign letting us know that at all. So naturally we had to find the closest restroom. Next door happened to be the closest one. We leave McDonald's to use the bathroom at HopCat. We both use the bathroom and head back to McDonald's to eat. Keep in mind this took maybe 5-7 minutes to do so. As we are walking back there we look over at my car and we see a tow truck getting ready to hook up my vehicle. I flip out and run over to him. I say “Sir I'm at Mcdonalds” and explain to him that the bathrooms are locked. He says “you have to be a patron of Mcdonalds”.I said “we are”. “We just had to use the bathroom”.He says “it's too late”...He says “go get the manager from mcdonalds”. I go get her and she is no help as he continues to chain my vehicle up. At this point I am pretty angry. So I call the police while he is chaining away. I tell him and he says they already know about it. So I finish up my call to the police and they say they are sending a squad car. I tell the tow guy and he pays no mind that I asked him to wait for the police to arrive. He starts to get the vehicle all the way on the tow truck and we just stand and watch him steal my vehicle basically helplessly. We acquire info and numbers and addresses. So we know where the car is going, price, time etc. Tow guy offers no info but to call the number on the truck. I do that. The lady on the phone tells me it's $395 to get my vehicle back and they open at 9 am. It was currently 9pm and we don't live in Detroit sooooo... At this point what are we going to do? We are stranded... The tow guy finishes up and does a really terrible job loading my vehicle. My front right tire was on top of the side railing! EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! Not only for my vehicle but for him and all people on the road!!! He asks for my keys. I said no way am I giving you my keys. You just stole my car!!! He says “We are not liable for any damages that occur with your vehicle”. He drives away... My vehicle is ready to basically fall off the side off the tow truck.... At this point me and my friend have no clue what just happened. Luckily a nice young lady asked us if we needed a ride. We said yes and quickly thought of where to go. We had a few choices. Walk the streets all night till morning. Get a hotel. Call for ride back to Toledo. Uber etc. We decide the easiest thing to do is hit the casino all night till morning. That is what we did. So we waited till 7 am and called BreakThrough. It states on there online presence both 24/7 and open 7am to 7pm. Neither true.... Opens at 9am. Keep in mind we walked from MGM to their office. Got there at 7 am no one there. Ok so 9 am it is. We are exhausted by this time from staying up all night and walking. We go to Burger King to pass the time to 9. 9 comes around and we are ready to get the car and drive home. Praying the car is not damaged from the way he loaded it up. We get inside and see the sign that says cash only. I didn't have $395 in cash So I had to go to the atm at the gas station next door. The atm only allows $200 to be withdrawn at one time... I had to draw out twice to get $400. That's 2 charges from the ATM and 2 charges from my bank just to withdraw cash! Walk back over to get this nightmare over with. Guy at the counter tells us he needs license, registration and proof of insurance. Ok cool. I have all of that. Except my registration being in my car for legal reasons of course. Let’s keep these types of businesses...OUT OF BUSINESS!
