Ascending Koi is one of Calgary’s best tattoo shops. Firstly, each and every person is made to feel welcome when you walk in the door. Marie the shop manager, and Sam the apprentice who also works front desk are both incredibly kind and welcoming. Each and every artist is impeccably trained and talented at what they do. The energy is also unlike any other shop that I have been to, you just feel good when you walk into the place. I have been honoured to have both Allyssa and Shaun tattoo me and I could not be happier. I highly recommend you check them out for any future tattoo projects. I know that Ascending Koi and their artists have me as a client for life.

Was back for my second large piece with Trevor. Very professional. He does charge a little more, as one pointed out, but he is quicker than most so it works out better I think. Less time, less pain. Both tattoos he has done for me in the past two months have healed perfectly! He is very talented. He pays attention to every detail. I took in pictures and explained with those pictures, what I liked and what I disliked. He drew it and we began! I have already booked a third tattoo with him. Would not go anywhere else. Thanks Trevor!!

Allysa did an amazing job on my very first tattoo. Had so much fun just spending time with her, while doing an amazing job! Would definitely come back!

Shaun Monto is an amazing artist and you'll never go wrong with him. I highly recommend him no matter what shop he's at. The shop itself is very clean and peaceful, all the artists and staff seem nice. My problem here lies with the shop itself. They charge you hidden fees and gouge your wallet wherever they can. It cost me 960 dollars to get this tattoo done before tip. If you're gonna go there make sure you're prepared to pay about 100$ on top of whatever tattoo you're going to get in hidden fees. 3/5 because Shaun is a prodigy with tattoos. Would have been a 5 if they didn't gouge your wallet.

went in looking for something pretty spontaneous. Matt did an amazing piece on my arm. while not only making sure I was comfortable as a client, but also making sure he paid great attention to detail. Amazing customer service - 10/10 recommend
