Gilla is wonderful. She helped me by reshaping my eyebrows. She has very professional electrolysis equipment. She was gentle and professional. I would recommend her esthetic services anytime. I went here thinking I would get just a simple Brazilian and left Gilla's with such an amazing experience. First Gilla is so professional and her studio is very clean. The wax she uses is also very clean. It's the on sticky type and makes the experience all that much better. She tells you like it is and the areas that will hurt more she gives you a fair warning. She's amazing!!! I was truly lucky to find this place. I moved to Ottawa and have been without an esthetician for a while. One experience with her and she is now officially my Ottawa esthetician and perhaps even a friend. She's so personable and sweet and will take the time for you. She even serves some chocolate or goodies for the end of the visit. How cute! See you in July Gilla! -S

I had a Brazilian done with Gilla two months ago, she is quite personable and chatty and does make you feel comfortable; however, did miss some hairs that I did not notice immediately after the wax when she told me to check. I decided to give her another chance last night to do upper legs and returning on Friday for a Brazilian. I arrive on time and she argued I was 30 minutes late until she checked her calendar and admitted I was correct. From then on she seemed rushed in the appointment. She spent 15 minutes or so on the front of my thighs and twice I pointed out 1inch by 4 inch sections of leg she missed. Unfortunately I could not see her wax nyback thighs but she only spent 5 minutes on the back. Unfortunately I couldn't feel hairs afterwards as she oiled me up and it felt smooth. When I got home after the appointment and after all the oil soaked in, I noticed several hairs on the front of my legs that I plucked, then I turned around and looked at the back and honestly cannot believe how much hair she missed. I can't even pluck it, I have to shave it now. I mean like cloth strip sized sections of hair, and not just the easy to miss blond ones, inch long dark ones. I don't even know how she missed them other than perhaps rushing through the process, she even said "there, that looks good" after she finished the back! I spent $50 and still need to shave. I was considering coming in to have her redo it Friday before the Brazilian but I don't have time to do both and quite frankly, this was already a second chance. On top of that, while showing my friend her website prices last night, I noted that the cost for half leg is $30, full legs and bikini is $55, and upper legs with bikini is $42...we didn't do a bikini wax, just half leg so it also seems I was overcharged at $50 and it was a complete waste of money. It was so disappointing to go home last night, and once the oil dried up notice, feel, and still see MANY long hairs! If you want someone personable, friendly, and chatty but who does not have an eye for thoroughness or consideration of hygiene (does not use gloves and double dips) then be all means book a wax with Gilla. Perhaps her other services are more worthwhile, but I won't be experimenting. ...in response to the owner, she was adamant if tampons were worn it was ok but the evening before I decided to split the appointment out of fear for extra pain, hence the second appointment Friday (which I cancelled), which was to be two days after my leg appointment. Gilla did not give me the option to I use more expensive wax, just did so at her choice, nor did she explain it was to be more expensive. Gilla's response does not address the primary concern, the fact that she missed about 50% of the hair on my upper legs during that appointment. Perhaps others have had good experiences, maybe you will, maybe you won't. Just a fair warning.

Very professional and personable service; client care and comfort was priority. Definitely services I will be returning to!
