Paid upfront for decking materials and labour in June 2023 only to be given a multitude of excuses for the delays. As others have mentioned, they fail to return calls or emails. Their phone lines are now disconnected; their website suspended. Now it is clear: The Deck Store is no more - confirmed by the seizure notices posted to the front doors. Looks like anyone whom has paid a deposit is likely out of their $$. We are out the cash an a deck. Very disappointing.

Jim at the deck store helped us to design, plan, order and build our dream deck! I was so intimidated by the process of building our deck. He made it easy. I loved that we could see the computer version before making it. It allowed us to look at all the options before making our decision. They were also very helpful while I was building. Even with lumber shortages, they had everything I needed. We now have a great outdoor space that we get to enjoy with our family for many years! If you are building a deck, you need to call the deck store first.

We are very happy with the quality and look of our new deck. Justin helped us design it, and having the ability to walk through the store and look at full scale decks built by them with the products they sell was better than we had hoped for. In addition, they sent a certified installer, Steve, to Fort McMurray to build the deck for us. Steve never once came to us with a problem where he didn’t already have an approach figured out, and his attitude was always professional and systematic. At the end of the project, they cleaned up the unused materials and took them away immediately. Can’t say enough about the great services provided by The Deck Store in all these areas. Thanks for the great looking deck!

This company was hired to install cable railing at my house on Sylvan Lake. They installed half of it in June 2022 and then said they ran short on supplies and did not complete the job. It is now May 31, 2023 and the job is still not complete. We have been in the house since Sept 2022 and have 3 little kids running around on a deck with non installed railing. I have attempted to call Justin Hays at least 5 times and have left messages for him to call me back to find out why there has been such a delay and he has never returned my calls. Unfortunately this company has been paid in full from my house builder and they have zero interest in completing the job to a point that my house builder is ordering extra supplies and doing it themselves. Do not use this company. Classic trades people...complete half the job when they knew they didn't even have the supplies to finish the job in the first place. Very disappointed in how I was treated.

My twenty-five year old cedar deck needed some work so I spent a great deal of time looking at different products on line and reading on line reviews of a variety of decking materials, then went to The Deck store to take a look at the actual products themselves. We took a selection of their samples home and then my wife and I with the help of the Sales Manager (Warren) eventually chose Wolf decking. I provided a rough sketch of the deck with some measurements and was given a quote by Warren. When I returned with a more accurate sketch and sat down with Warren to fine tune the estimate it came out to be very accurate. I also ordered the Rain Escape system for my upper deck which turned out to be a great decision and made the area under my upper deck completly water proof. ( I have a bi-level so the area under the upper deck doubles as a storage area). I had a bit of an issue with attachment clips, which turned out to be not as advertised (they made holes in the decking boards). I took the issue to Warren and it was obvious to him that the clips were not working so he found new clips that worked. (This was not their issue as the manufacturer advertised that these clips would work for Wolf Decking). I still had nine boards that were damaged and with Warrens help we resolved this issue and I was provided replacement boards at no cost. (Thanks Warren). My renovation involved re-spacing the current joists from sixteen inch centers to twelve inch centers, which was real grunt work. I did manage to use some of the old joists but had to build a complicated outer edged to support the picture frame look. All my hard work turned out beautifly and the new deck is much sturdier (the twelve inch centers and the addition of more blocking) and has a fabulous look that I expect will last for the next twenty-five years without and more painting.
