We didn't end up redoing our deck, but if we did we would have gone with Mountain View Sun Decks. They were very knowledgeable about their products, provided a fair estimate and were very friendly and courteous.

Have you ever seen a deck and thought to yourself "that looks great, but it would look better if I couldn't see all the screw nails"? Well, I saw two decks that I liked, except for the screw nails, NOT Mountain View. I decide to go with Mountain View and a design I liked and when the installer started to build the deck, I noticed that there were NO screw nails showing. I asked him how the deck was going to stay down. He said " I use a clip system". Well 5 plus years later and my deck (no maintenance) still looks great and I have had lots of compliments on it. Oh yes, they were on time and on budget and cleaned up everything.

Mountain View Decks did a fantastic job on enlarging our deck and ensuring our posts didn't move up and down (as the previous deck did, thus ruining our stucco). We just moved and had another quote by Mountain View and I have to say I was stunned. The cost of the new deck would be smaller and it was so insanely expensive! Wish we could go with them, but to be honest, we don't feel like paying over $20,000 for a deck!

I would recommend this company. From my initial conversation to the Steven, the sales associate, who was a pleasure to talk to and was able to meet with us on a Friday night in the evening to answering all my questions, whether a question I asked the day before and forgot he provided an answer to anything and everything in between. Steven always replied within a reasonable amount of time, and at all times during the day. We had no idea about a deck and what we had to make decisions about, Steven was able to ask the questions so we could get what we wanted and not make it a huge hassle or expect that we just knew what was really going on. All in all, Steven was a true pleasure to work with throughout the whole experience. Steven had recommendations but when we said we wanted something. If it wasn't for Steven who recommended we go with the shorter railing so that it didn't block our view out of all our windows in the back of the house, something I hadn't even thought about. The initial cost of the project was quoted very high, but after telling Steven we got a more reasonable quote from another company, Steven was able to get Mountain View Sun Decks ("MVSD") to match the quote and we are so glad we went MVSD. The project was for a pressure treated two tier deck with an 8'x12' upper deck and a step down to a 12'x12' lower deck. The work was pretty much completed in a day. The gentleman who came to build our deck very fast and efficient. There was about a month wait time between signing the contract and the start of building, but it was worth it. I also would recommend MVSD, for the fact that no money changes hands until the project is done and you are satisfied with the workmanship.
