Both my neighbor and I are senior citizens - one being much more senior than the other and we are both women. My neighbor wanted between us done as well as her back between another neighbor. Same style of fencing the only difference being between her and I the fence would be 5' high and 6' posts. He also gave me a quote for my the rest of my property with a 5' high fence and 6' high posts. The reason being I like my neighbor and we talk over the existing fence, but I wanted the option of putting up a higher addition should they move and circumstances changed. I could always add an extra decorative piece to the top at a later date. This was my plan for my whole yard which I could not afford this year, but planned on doing next year. He later said he got a deal on 6x6 posts and would use those instead of 4x4 posts at no extra charge. The one neighbor and I agreed to go ahead and do between us and split the cost. I double checked his measurements for my portion of the fence and it was 10' over what he was charging for. I mentioned this to my neighbor and when she checked her measurement it was 18' over what he was charging her. (????) The 6x6 posts went in and were cut to 6' height. Great!! The next thing I know I have a 6' high fence between my neighbor and I, which is not what we asked for. When I questioned this, before they put the boards up, he became very rude saying I asked for it, and also telling my neighbor I asked him to talk her into paying for the 6' height. I NEVER DID THAT. Both my neighbor and I agreed on the 5' fence with 6' posts. I brought this to his attention and he insisted I told him to do this (again I did not) and that he had to charge more because he lost fencing my property as well. You can't lose something you never had - I asked for a quote and would let him know. I did just that explaining I could not afford it all this year but to go ahead with the fence on one side. When he presents the bill, it has the correct length, but he charged extra for the 6x6 posts and the 6' fence which we did not ask for. The total of my bill was more than the original amount with the wrong footage. If you are going to deal with him, make certain you double check everything and make certain it is written down. He likes to overtalk you, can be overbearing and walks away saying he's right. If you question him about anything be ready for a beligerent, condescending attitude. It really is a shame because they seem to do a good job, but the customer service is non existent.
