We hired ESM to install a fence along one side of our property line. Overall quality of the work was mediocre and the experience with the contractor was difficult at times. After the contract was signed it took about four weeks for work to start and total construction time took about 2 weeks. ESM had to take out a fair amount of roots and buried construction materials that were left there by the previous owner but didn't bother to fill it back in a grade it before constructing the fence a few inches below the rest of our backyard. The contractor’s response was that all backyards are uneven. The fence we had installed was a 7 foot white cedar fence. From far away it looks great, but up close the construction appears imprecise with screws that protrude out from the side. It was not built by their more experienced personnel who were required for a bigger job, but instead by two novices with little supervision. When trying to contact the main contractor during construction we usually got voicemail which was almost always full. When he returned our call his attitude was terse and annoyed that we were bothering him. At the end of construction, a chain link fence post that was removed to install one of the new posts was left unrepaired for over a month despite repeated requests for them to complete the work. The chain link was eventually completed. Glad this is over with. Would not recommend. Would not rehire.
