This beautiful Lake is the second largest lake within the Manitoulins This being said, Lake Manitou is the largest lake within the Manitoulin Islands. Within its waters you'll also see several small and one large island. Its name come from our Aboriginal brethren. Lake Kagawong in its natural objibway language translates to the lake of Four Winds. (and be forwarned to be as true to its character). Storms come up quickly, and we'll, the winds, they keep true to form and change direction often and quickly. This lakes shoreline are serenely decorated with hundreds of of birds occuping the thousands of hard and soft wood trees, which often host a large nest for the returning family of White Bald headed Eagle's that glide around above is for our viewing pleasure. Lake Kagawong holds large and small mouth bass, a long with, yellow perch, pickeral, pike, catfish, fresh water clams and more. If your looking for an adventure, travel up the narrow rivers that will lead you to the Bridal veil Esso for gas, food, tourism gifts to take back as a momentum/seouvenir of their trip to God's Country. Another, great to keep in mind that we hold one of tTHRR MOSY annual (second weekend of August) fishing derby for the children of the Starlight 🌟☄️ Foundation. This event has been successfully in operation for over 25 yrs now. And brings in thousands of dollars to has been Spring Bay Clubs way of offering something back to our small communities with the use of the grounds for trailer parking, our private boat launch and an all around
