This was a pretty fun and informative experience, perfect for a hot and humid day in the middle of summer. The whole experience takes about an hour, from the time you walk in to the gates to the time you walk out. They start you off in a room featuring the history of industry and electricity in Niagara Falls owed by a video presentation on the same subject matter. The room and presentation seem very new and recently installed. The displays are very well done and many are interactive. After this part of the tour you head to get your sandals (which you keep) and they give you plastic bags to keep your shoes and valuables dry. You then wait in line to take the elevator down. Once at the bottom they hand you a very large poncho that does well to cover almost your entire body. As a tall man the poncho was big enough to cover all the way past my knees. There are then several decks to walk on culminating in the hurricane deck which is appropriately named. Even the larger poncho wasn't able to keep me fully dry as the force of the water and wind allowed some water to sneak in to my poncho. However it was a welcome torrent that left me feeling refreshed. The wait in the tunnel to get back up was the longest part of the experience. Overall I'd say it was worth the cost and time. We had a great experience.

It is the best experience one can have in US part of Niagara. If it is your first visit, wear something similar to beach wear and sandals. It is also better if you bring one additional set of clothing. The entry fee includes one time use plastic rain coat and reusable sandals. Don't miss the group photo opportunity which is part of the fee. The hard copy will be available for pickup on your exit. Bags are allowed. Make sure the bags are water proof. Water proof phones are an advantage but not a must if used carefully. There's no time limit within the closing hour so one can enjoy the falls as much as possible. Lot of photo spots. The force of water of the fall needs to be experienced. Beyond words.

When I visited Niagara in 2017, I missed the cave of winds. Later on after reading reviews and videos, came to know this is definitely an interesting place to visit. So bough the Niagara discovery pass in my 2018 visit which included ticket for cave of winds. Right from the time we got into the elevator which took us down to the bottom of falls and reaching the falls, the journey was amazing. You will be given slippers which is very useful to walk through the wooden trail. A must visit spot in Niagara

Incredible experience! Brought our almost 3 year old son to the Falls and he loved it. The Hurricane Deck was so powerful! Expect to get drenched if you go to that level. The ponchos they give you are useless in the tropical storm force. Highly recommend spending at least 6 hours at the Niagara Falls State Park as there are so many things to experience. The Discovery Pass is money well spent.

The Cave of the Winds is so much fun. You ride an elevator down to the base of the American Falls, get a poncho and keepsake sandals, and take a short hike on a series of wooden decks near the falls. Making your way up to the hurricane deck is crazy. Once you get up there, it really feels like your in a hurricane. It is a unique experience to be so close to such a powerful waterfall. You will get wet. Highly recommend taking the plunge. 5 stars.
