We wanted a much larger deck so contacted the people at Allen Building Centre for help. Gave them a rough layout of what we wanted to accomplish. Chad was great to work with. He prepared a design, provided detailed drawings, and then did a take-off of the materials we needed. I did a quick price check at a big box store and found that Allen's pricing was equal to or better than the competitions. Ordered all the lumber (pressure treated and cedar) and hardware and had it delivered, unloaded, and placed where we wanted it. In the process of building the deck we had a few questions, gave Chad a call, got answers, and proceeded to build our deck. After the deck was finished we had several neighbours come over to inspect it. To quote one neighbour, “he's never stood on a deck that was so well built.” Thanks Chad and everyone at Allen's for your help and advice. You made it easy.

Good service and selection

The only hardware store in the heart of Woodstock. Has a reasonable range of supplies available for your project, though because they are quite small, you might often find they are missing a crucial piece for a project. Staff are knowledgable and can give you guidance on your project. The yard is stocked with whatever large lumber, etc. that you might need. Prices are somewhat on the high end compared to other retailers in town. Hours are very limited with no evening hours.
