This is a FIVE STAR REVIEW about Zen Living Kitchen & Bath, but first I need to give a wee bit of history. 2016 was supposed to be an exciting time to do a full kitchen and bathroom renovation in my condo. We hired a cabinet-maker recommended by a friend’s contractor, and paid him a 50% deposit followed by 40% after the boxes were dropped off. This was per his contract. Too bad he turned out to be a con artist. He never finished the work. What little he did was sub-standard. And he stole our money. Due to the poor workmanship, attitude and lies, we had to remove the cabinet-maker from the project. Not only were we disheartened and upset that less than 10% was completed, we now faced the task of hiring someone else to take over the project and complete the work! Not many companies want to take over another company’s mistakes and mess! In December 2016, we hired Zen Living Kitchen & Bath to complete the effort in three separate stages, December 2016, March 2017, and September 2017. We were scared. We were nervous. We were afraid to make a payment without checking and double-checking and making sure our credit card would cover any payment/delivery issues. We checked out at least ten references and googled the reviews. This company looked fabulous in Calgary. What about the newly opened Vancouver Operations of Zen Living Kitchen & Bath? They were new to Vancouver, should we give them a chance. Or did we continue to live without kitchen and bathroom cabinets? We had been conned by the first cabinet-maker. We could not afford to do this again. Mark Lowe, Manager, Zen Living Kitchen & Bath and Matt Bonneville, General Site Manager, Zen Living Kitchen & Bath along with their team took this reno project over and restored our faith in cabinet makers, specifically, and trades, in general. Overall the support, workmanship, and services they provided were excellent. They were outstanding in their communication, rapport, and empathy with us. We adopted all of Mark Lowe’s cabinet design ideas which were necessary to finish the remaining 90% of the cabinetwork, and to seamlessly blend/and fix the original 10%. There were some issues with missed delivery items and doors that didn’t shut properly, but every time we voiced a concern, the issue was taken care of with no problem or question. Zen Living Kitchen & Bath consistently met and surpassed our expectations. Thank you so much Mark and Matt! We HIGHLY recommend Zen Living Kitchen & Bath to anyone considering quality cabinets, excellent service, and a trusting relationship.
