Express Contracting/Elite Kitchen and Bath took my small co-op kitchen, gutted the whole thing, moved the sink, installed 3 kinds of lighting and turned it into a full-size dream of a kitchen complete with granite table, clotted cream cabinets with architectural details and stone-effect porcelain floor. I don't think I will ever be able to move because I have not seen a more perfect small kitchen in the whole metropolitan area! I have to add that the work took approximately 2 months, and not only was the workmanship impeccable but also the workers were extremely nice and kept the area very clean. I recommended Elite Kitchen and Bath to a friend in Manhattan and she was also thrilled with her new kitchen and hand-crafted entryway cabinet and dining room buffet. As I contemplate my next project this spring, I have no other contractor but Express Contracting in mind to perform the work.

Me Sharabani owner of Elite kitchen and bath were wonderful. They remodeled my kitchen and bathroom and painted the apartment. His staff and workers were just great and I would recommend Elite kitchen and bath highly

I can’t say enough about the team at Elite Kitchen & Bath. They are masterful. Robin Dasilva was a huge help in renovating my NYC kitchen. And Yeheskel Sharbani was a genius in design. The two of them were great to work with. Always available and they oversaw every detail of the job. The workmen they used were also great. And as nice as can be. The job turned out even better than I expected. I would highly recommend them.

We have remodeled two kitchens with Express contracting / Elite Kitchen & Bath, one in our house about fifteen years ago and one in 2014 when we sold our house and moved into a coop. The work was impeccable in both cases and we only gave Express contracting / Elite Kitchen & Bath this work after we’ve seen some homes he worked on in Forest Hills Gardens. No one gets work in The Gardens unless they are highly recommended and approved by the Association. of that I was sure. Our kitchens, after their suggestive modifications, came out exactly as we wanted, open and airy unlike they were before, all closed up. In fact not only did they do our kitchens but our bedrooms and a bathroom. Our house was old and sinking upstairs so we redid the floors too. We had custom closets installed and practically rewired the whole house. We put in a new heater and new windows. Selling our house later, enable us to double our renovation investment. It was because of the good, I mean, excellent work, Express contracting /Elite Kitchen & Bath did, that we hired them again to redo our kitchen and two bedrooms and bathrooms in our coop. Our closets were a mess and Express Contracting redid them all with fine wood paneling. We did one bathroom with a tub and one, in the master bedroom, with a rain shower and glass shower walls. We also added ceiling and base molding as these apartments did not have any. The kitchen cabinets are made by a top manufacturer which we had in both dwellings. The countertops fit like a glove and after almost three years there is not a catch on them. Our kitchen and bath floors are tiled in a custom design, the same with our bath walls. Everything was designed in their showroom to our liking by a friendly group of people. When necessary they also came to our house for any final changes we wanted to make. This is a fireproof building so any wiring had to be chiseled in the cement walls or celling. Everything looks as smooth as if it was done when the house was first built. As Mr. Sharbani says, " No after thought design " We also had a built in bookshelf unit custom made by Elite Kitchen & Bath, into a corner, by one of their master carpenters. Truly a work of art. Their workmen were polite, came on time and cleaned up their areas when they left. That’s every day. We hope not to have to move again, but if we do, Express contracting / Elite Kitchen & Bath are the people we would hire again without hesitation!

I have recently discovered that by New York State law, David Sharbani of Elite was supposed to give me a written contract which listed all materials, including manufacturers, cost of labor, and the time frame during which the job would be done. Not only did I not get a contract, but I never even got a written proposal. Other people I have spoken to said the same procedure was used with them. Note that he claims he works on the basis of "materials and time worked", but by law, that time worked has to be spelled out. First he claimed I signed a contract but was unable to produce it. He then later claimed I had refused to sign a contract. If that had been the case, he would have had to refuse the job according to the law. I note the spate of new reviews after I filed mine which are all glowingly positive, and a few of which state that Sharbani works on the basis of materials and time worked. I find that amusing, since who on earth puts that in a review??? He is also not licensed. I was also, by law, supposed to get a written two-year warranty on materials and labor. I do not have that either. I also have several invoices from him with charges for Home Depot, none of which are itemized. They added up to over $10,000.00. When I asked him what the charges were for, he said things like "grout". That's pretty expensive grout. I paid over $900.00 for a small Home Depot vanity, which according to Home Depot is probably double what the piece actually costs. I am waiting for the photos and a letter from Home Depot. All in all, there is no question that I was overcharged for materials, and the number of hours of labor I was charged for is ludicrous. I also wrote out checks totaling over $11,000.00 to his father, Yeheskel, instead of to the business itself. I gather from other people he has had them do the same. This should not be the case with any business. Disastrous experience. I will not make this lengthy since I have posted reviews in several places which go into extreme detail, since there were other jobs they did here which I am not addressing in this review- again, all negative. The only thing which came out relatively well was a new kitchen island to replace one they removed, but it was ultra-expensive- about $23,000.00. Suffice to say that they ordered the wrong kitchen countertops, insisted they were what I ordered and would not replace them without my paying for them a second time. That was the point at which I fired Mr, Sharbani and had to spend weeks without a kitchen until I found someone else to complete the work. They had already removed the old counters, sink, and cooktop and I had no water or ability to cook. They have refused to return my deposit on the countertops as well as money they owe me for a sink strainer and bottom grid, which I also paid for. They charged me for replacing a power strip on the kitchen island and it was not done. They expect me to pay the balances which would have been due had they finished the work; the balance of the countertops, the installation of the new counters, and the labor of hooking up the sink and plumbing, gas cooktop, and gas downdraft. I had also hired them to put down porcelain tile in my basement, 750 square feet of floor. I was charged for about nine hundred forty pieces of 9 X 35 inch tile when the store says I only needed about 356 pieces of tile. At roughly $50.00 a box of eight tiles each, I don't have to tell you how I was overcharged for that floor. I also discovered that he charged me more than double what the cost of those 940 tiles would be at any retail store which carries them. The cost should have been around $2300.00 and I paid just under $5000.00. I have two extra tiles in my basement in case I need to repair the floor. In addition, I was charged for 180 hours of labor to put those tiles down, at $70.00 hour labor, which means that about four tiles per hour were laid. My fault for not doing due diligence, but it should never have happened. Lesson learned. Need I say more???
